I appreciate many will disagree.
I agree with you about Casino Royale, although I prefer Skyfall over Spectre. But, as with all things Bond, it’s very subjective. For example, one of my favourite Bond films is On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, although George Lazenby is not in my top 3 favourite Bonds.
I also agree with you that Daniel Craig was the best Bond, followed by Sean Connery and Timothy Dalton.
Lazenby - worst
Dalton - sour faced, wooden lump who thought he was far too good to be Bond.
Brosnan - ok but made the biggest bond stinker in "Die Another Day" pheewey!
like a Thunderbirds episode . In fact I think Gerry Anderson was involved in it unless I dreamt that ?0 -
Connery then Craig a close 2nd.0

The worst films for ridiculous storylines ( invisible cars !) are the Piers Brosnan ones but I actually like him as Bond .3 -

I think the fact that they show Moonraker on telly still, but I cant recall DAD being on recently is an indication of popularity.0 -

I only lasted for 15 minutes or so before deciding I had some paint drying that needed watching!1 -

I really like Dalton as Bond. He looked like he might actually be a cold hearted killer so it was a shame he only got two outings. He and Craig gave the character some depth.
Brosnan was criminally underserved. One great film followed by progressively shitter movies that get so bad the last one nearly killed the franchise. I agree that it's worse than Moonraker, which is clearly very silly but most (not all) of the Moore films are a bit like that. Like when they managed one of the greatest car stunts of all time and the editor whacked a slide whistle on it. Or a pigeon doing a double take (which might have been Moonraker anyway, I can't remember).
Surprised nobody has mentioned Bob Holness! He should have had a pay-off line after shooting someone in the bathroom - "You can have a pee now, Bob"4 - Sponsored links:

Agreed, it’s pretty unwatchable!1 -

Even taking into account values of today vs when the novels were actually written, the original book version of Bond is frankly rather unpleasant and unlikeable as a character. In many ways Connery's take is arguably the closest to the text in that sense and has also aged quite badly for the same reason.
Craig's version is definitely not as "book accurate" but between the performance and the writing stands out to me as the best character inasmuch as he is still a killer and a brute but retains a bit more humanity as a person.1 -

I thought the one with the Indiana Jones team up was the best Connery Bond film.

Funny thing is Connery was only 12 years older than Ford.0

Watched The Living Daylights last night and I’d forgotten just how shitty the Bond brand had become. Not Daltons fault in my opinion. He's a proper actor who could have easily pulled off the later hardened and Jason Bourne provoked Daniel Craig films. Any news on a new Bond ? Names emerge every so often but then it all goes quiet.1

Didn’t Cubby Broccoli say Dalton was best portrayal of Bond ?This was pre Craig though0

I've probably said this before but giving Craig a multi-film arc has painted them into a corner. All the previous Bonds started and ended in the same place so it was easy to replace them. Now it has to be a proper reboot. They almost certainly can't keep the same supporting cast or MI6 sets and so on. So they really need someone to drive a new series that won't confuse the audience (there are people in these threads that don't believe Craig's Bond died lol).0 -
Moonracker is on itv now0

Big Bond fan and in a triple whammy of Bond fun this year 1) I drank in Raffles’ hotel ‘Secret Bar’ - door number - 007 - inbuilt into the bar wall - THE original Aston Martin - the whole car, not a half or replica. This was the OWO where Fleming allegedly penned two novels. 2) I meet my favourite Bond in person this week, can say no more, but life shines brighter than you imagine sometimes and I will have butterflies when I get to have a chat and 3) the annual Christmas shindig I put on this year in the music industry is Bond themed, a big icon getting the main award and more surprises than one of Q’s watches.2

carly burn said:Broccoli and Wilson had all the experience and knowhow you could wish for in continuing to produce some excellent Bond movies. Skyfall and No Time To Die were fantastic and with the times, it’s only the Brosnan entries which wobbled in part as they started to get some ‘unspecial’ effects and ridiculous sequences in the way of some quite good story telling.I hope Amazon do not fcuk this up!0

However good it is, I am sure there will be lots of people who have already decided it's going to be awful and all the fault of Amazon3
