Regardless of what happens with Dixon it’s very hard to knock the club on this one. An audacious and progressive attitude to signing players that are worth a punt and that’s not meant to disrespect Dixon.37

We're buying him for his potential and he and his agent must see the clubs potential, plus our record of bringing through young talent.Chris_from_Sidcup said:
Why on earth is he signing for us then?DubaiCAFC said:Dixon is now out of the bag… very very highly rated, and a great coup for us, lot of big clubs after him.7 -

There were shots of goalkeepers backs in yesterday’s but I couldn’t identify who they were? Assumed it was the usual suspects or………..ButtleJR said:No shots of the goalkeepers in this morning's training pics, wonder why that is...0 -
Regardless of the views, not one of us has ever seen this kid in person I don't think, and we certainly have no idea of the level of the Jamaican league. I hope the kid is amazing, but I won't heap pressure on him. Firstly moving abroad from what he knows for the first time in his life and secondly, his a young kid. Let's give him time and hopefully watch him blossom in a charlton shirt.

Who does he play for?YannTheMann said:All I got to say about Dixon signing is Irie Irie ire0 -
Dixon is clearly low risk high reward (potentially), lets be honest most of us aren't very clued up on the players we sign from this country let alone the qualities of the Jamaican league. I assume we have got him fairly cheap, if he turns out develop nicely in to a squad player its a good result, if he becomes a top player for us even better. Equally if he doesnt make it he moves on and we have spent very little time/money on him.2

How many matches do people think he’ll play in the team this season, 5 maybe 10 matches?CAFCDAZ said:Regardless of the views, not one of us has ever seen this kid in person I don't think, and we certainly have no idea of the level of the Jamaican league. The irony here is that if someone came in and guzzumped us on the Dixon signing this place would go into meltdown.18

No, if he wants to play for us his spirit must be broken and early. Last thing we need is an outbreak of optimism.LargeAddick said:
Bloody hell give him a break. He’s obviously got something about him and definitely worth a punt. Not as if he’s Alfie’s direct replacement. No disrespect to his Jamaican club but in our environment he should come on in leaps and bounds.
Good grief how many chances does he need to score from 5 yards out. He might well have more to his game & only be young but if you can't hit the target from there it's worrying.1 -
How many matches do people think this new lad will play, 5/10 in his first year, if he settles?0

Well possibly not but you believed I was Lyle Taylor a few months back, i dont think its too much of stretch a 19 year old kid about to sign for a professional club in London may check their forum ?charltonbob said:

PS before you (or the the guy that first floated the Taylor conspiracy, forgot his name) start - I am not Kaheim Dixon either.2 -

Dixon looks like an exciting prospect, but the words of caution about not expecting too much too soon are sensible. Difficult to know what the standard of the Jamaican league is but I imagine that Tyreece Campbell would look absolutely top drawer in that competition.2

Apparently set for first team squad. I wonder how much Jones had to say about this one.0

That will depend entirely on how well he plays.Mendonca In Asdas said:How many matches do people think this new lad will play, 5/10 in his first year, if he settles?
As things stand it's impossible to say.1 -
Last season I was told we had quite a few players with Caribbean roots and they all hang out. Karoy, Tyreece and Miles remain - Hector and Terrell no more. I think he'll feel about as "at-home" with us than most other places and I dare say that played a part.CAFCDAZ said:Regardless of the views, not one of us has ever seen this kid in person I don't think, and we certainly have no idea of the level of the Jamaican league. I expect he'll be living at Chez Leaburn so the wonderful Mrs Leaburn will be looking after him too
As long as we are realistic about him I think he'll be fine16 -

Come on, we are Charlton fans, of course we’ll expect the earth the moment he steps on the pitch and slate him relentlessly if he doesn’t deliver first game😹Davo55 said:Dixon looks like an exciting prospect, but the words of caution about not expecting too much too soon are sensible. My thoughts too. Why are we going after a winger when Jones doesn’t even play with wingers?ShootersHillGuru said:Apparently set for first team squad. Can and does play centrally for his team and Jamaica as well. From pre-season it looks as if Campbell is going to be playing centrally some of the time. Makes sense that we have an alternative/back-up if that's the plan. With Dixon and Campbell it also gives us the option of switching to 2 wingers in a game if Jones feels like that is a good approach. No point in having a winger sitting there doing nothing, but as he can play centrally too it makes perfect sense to have him as an option.matt88 said:
