The setback will hopefully do us a favour come 10th Aug. Let's not go into meltdown.

Our defence cannot keep a clean sheet
Our midfield is not creating opportunities and looks lightweight.
Our (new) forwards are not scoring goals.
I think that is a problem, don't you?
We’ve scored 10 in four pre season games including three against a team who beat Luton. We also grabbed a draw against Premier League opposition, would’ve been a win and clean sheet but for some silky JRS skill.

Today was disappointing but it tells us almost nothing about how we’re going to perform across the upcoming season.

Does NJ think our two new forwards can play together, seems odd not trying them together now

Normal service resumed, I wouldn't know what to do with myself if we weren't appalling

It's a friendly so who cares about the result.

But what this should tell us is this squad needs a bit more quality injected into it if we want to get promoted. Didn't see much quality today.

Sorry, the wrong people scored those goals, so they don't count

Losing to AFC Wimbledon is like Losing to Fleetwood. A shitty team with a shitty ground and no history. At least Fleetwood know they are shit.

They got 15 minutes together after half time.

Think it was more to do with the fact they’re limiting Ahadme to 30 minutes after the strain he picked up. He would’ve started today if they’re weren’t managing him

Not going to comment much until I see them myself next Saturday.......but it seems we still dont have anyone in midfield to create anything. Especially if we aren't playing with wingers.
Or a tough tackling defensive midfielder  :(

Agreed. Especially as unless NJ is actually planning to start Chuks, it seems odd to keep using him as a starter, rather than as a supersub.

The result is of course unimportant. The performance two weeks out from the start of the season is more concerning.
We lack some serious quality on that showing. Zero flair in that squad on what they showed.

    No.

We've won 2, drawn 1 and lost 2. Take aside recency bias and its basically impossible to say which if any are more "realistic" omens of the season.

Not the greatest performance that's for sure, in fact pretty crap.
However let's get some perspective here, it's a pre-season friendly. Some of the comments are somewhat OTT.
Last season everyone was waxing lyrical when we played Millwall, then look what happened!
It's not important, what is important is NJ sees what he needs to do, along with next weeks game, and gets the squad ready for Wigan

6 of those goals were against a part time side, 4 divisions below us. And it's actually 10 in 5 games (including Millwall).

6 against Dartford and 3 against a poor foreign team. The only real highlight has been the Aneke goal against Palace.
But of course, everything is fine.
I am sure the season tickets will get a big bump after today.

And the draw against a Prem team and other loss against Championship team.

All that matters is Wigan. If we looks like this, it will be concerning. But it will be concerning because we look bad in a league game.

That poor foreign team then went on to beat a Championship side...

Are the goals a different size against those teams? - How can you complain that we've not scored against a lower league side, and then bemoan that we've only scored goals against lower league sides... It doesnt make sense!!

I thought he asked to leave for family reasons, not sure how Jones fucked up

Bullshit .. he was told to play out of position by NJ then moaned at because he wasn't aggressive enough! Jones has brought in 2 more aggressive strikers but give me guaranteed goals any day! 30+ goals 3 seasons running what's not to like, anyway just my opinion on an opinions site
    Yawn.

Rubbish performance, too many off days for the lads who played 70 minutes, expect them to have a proper kick up the arse and improvement next week

We're going to lose games this season, we're going to draw games this season.

Just important we do it less often than everyone else.

Although I admit it’s the first friendly I’ve seen this season I can’t help but come away thinking we are one - undercooked and two , in a worse place than we were at the start of last season .
The only three players to come away with any credit from today was Edwards , Docherty and Mitchell. The rest looked off the pace .
I know it’s only a friendly but I thought by now we would at least be playing how we expect to play at Wigan yet we created very little and conceded yet again . No change there then .

Some of the OTT reactions are embarrassing. It’s pre-season. We comfortably beat a side a couple of weeks ago who then beat Luton in their next game, we then drew with and should have beat a mid table prem side last week. All 3 results mean absolutely nothing.

    Especially considering they're a league 2 side
