  • The only people who can, if they wish, criticise our level of away support are the ones who regularly attend away matches.
People who don't go should keep their opinions to themselves.
I don't play or manage Charlton,  am I allowed to criticise them or voice an opinion on that
or can I big up the away numbers but not say they were or are shit
As far as I'm concerned you can say what you like on the club or management, that's your opinion.
I don't know if you attend many away games but to keep moaning about our away support at every opportunity gets a bit tiresome.
I hardly ever make comment on our away numbers only if there is an ongoing discussion , I  just offer my experienced well thought of opinion on the numbers , nothing more nothing less and I’ve even mentioned it’s improved against the odds with the shit football and the understandable dwindling home numbers

you are having a laugh, it is one of your constant posts, I know you done the grounds years ago like myself, but our away numbers and support is very good.It does come across like a broken record how you compare our support to other clubs.

I'm saying its ok I'm not saying it's shit , like it previously has been , years back I would have slagged it off but not in recent times
I can change my view when things change as they clearly have , our home numbers have dropped off considerably and away have held/slightly increased

if you can find these so called constant posts then fair enough but I think you're going over 18 years of the site being open and remembering the days years ago when i slagged it off .
I compare with clubs to give the numbers some value .
    happy to help!

If ours is very good, then Bolton must have one of the top away followings in the country..

I am really looking forward to this one and will listen to some footie podcasts on the way up - @LouisMend will CharltonLive return this week ahead of Saturday? Way back down will either be a bouyant mood with TalkSport and music interspersed with lots of positive chatter around the season ahead, or it will be sombre and a long drive back with an angsty teenager. Either way, spending time with my 17 year son who was born into this lifelong suffering but shared passion for CAFC will make whatever it turns out to be worth every second with bells on. I have become a bit immune but cannot relate to the days when a defeat no matter who to would ruin the rest of your weekend…
My son is 15 - This with bells on...
Spot on..My son is the only reason that I have kept going recently after 50 plus years. Our days out together are something we cherish . We will be there Saturday.

Same here. My lads is 9 and loves an away game. We can only afford 5 or 6 at most a season but it's time spent with him we both get so much from, if only to moan about how rubbish we are😆

Tickets for this weekend's trip to the Brick Community Stadium are no longer on sale, but can be purchased on matchday (cash only). Sales and collections will be from windows 1-3 at Wigan's Ticket Office, which is located in the north west corner of the stadium.

Thanks for the info clive. My tickets haven't turned up so will need to head to the Wigan ticket office to pick up my duplicates after speaking to our ticket office.

    No preview thread?

And don't say I could do it, because I know fuck all about football.

Which is presumably how I ended up supporting Charlton.

Do you get the same seat number on your duplicate ticket…asking for a friend called Stuwall.🥸
  • Probably got about 400 duplicate tickets out there to ramp up our away numbers.

862 sold, with walk ups will be around 900. I think that’s pretty decent all things considered. Hope those of your going are rewarded

My geography is so rubbish, I would have been confident Mansfield & Barnsley were much further apart than that!

Always find it bizarre that so many stadiums are cashless inside, yet if you want to buy a ticket it's cash only!
  • 800 addicks is a decent turn out for a 5:30pm game that is on the telly (& requires £100 in train travel costs)

Come on you reds! Let’s get off to a flying start.
Went to Swedish second division game last week. Varbergs BoIS v Helsingborg 17:30 kickoff.
    Attendance:5400 - 799 away!!

I mean that can’t be far off 100% of their home support. Fair play.

Wigan away on a sat 5:30 kickoff in the seventies would have had two coaches from Lewis coaches Greenwich, and about 30 on the train. 150 tops.

The 5.30 kick off plus the thought of trying to get out of Wigan on a Saturday evening with the chance of getting caught up in demonstrations ended my plans to go today. The sky deal for tv is ridiculous

It’s Wigan pride today. Definitely no demonstrations happening here.

Helsingborg is just down the road, as you will know, but by Sweden standards that is a very good turnout.
I went with Elfsborg in 2022 and we only had about 300, and that's only 75 minutes away.

As I posted…full credit to those that went and were getting behind the team. I was surprised the number announced wasn’t much higher given the support they had been giving
