Bolton Wanderers have made another significant move in the transfer market with the signing of John McAtee from Luton Town on a three-year deal.
Arriving at the club from the Hatters for an undisclosed fee, McAtee becomes the third signing in the space of 24 hours – and eighth of the summer – as Ian Evatt bolsters his attacking options with the highly-sought after forward.

Didn't go to Wrexham then. Must have been one we looked at, but we didn't realistically have room with Godden and Ahadme coming in. We don't have the budget where we'd loan out players like Kanu and Campbell to replace them with big signings, and using academy players is a big part of the plan as it has been since we came down from the Prem.shirty5 said:https://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/wanderers-secure-mcatee-dealBolton Wanderers have made another significant move in the transfer market with the signing of John McAtee from Luton Town on a three-year deal.

Makes me wonder if they're still in for Joe Taylor too. Healey and Marshall could be a very useful frontline, comes very highly thought of and already a NI international.0 -
I’d get on the bench for NI, even with my gout flare up this weekMarcusH26 said:DyerConsequences said:Huddersfield have signed Striker Callum Marshall on loan from West Ham. He made 3 appearances on loan at West Brom last season.

It'll be interesting if the new owners bring success, or if they'll be like the Russian owner who bought Reading from Madejski and nearly destroyed it.

McAtee is a cracking signing. NJ might say we have been aggressive in our signings but in my opinion McAtee is a better signing than any we have made.shirty5 said:https://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/wanderers-secure-mcatee-dealBolton Wanderers have made another significant move in the transfer market with the signing of John McAtee from Luton Town on a three-year deal.

Slonina is an excellent signing for Barnsley, was an MLS record fee for a keeper when he left Chicago Fire and is already a full US international at 20.
Would have happily had him on loan.0 -

Big rush of players in the last 2 days before the season started. Only 3 teams now have 5 or less signings, Huddersfield, Reading and Wycombe.
Whilst we're almost at double figures for teams that have signed 10+. A lot more loans as well over the past 2 days.0 -
A big wake up call to wives/girlfriends/kids of players. If your other half/dad isn’t on his A Game then there’s a good chance you’ll be living in a new town/county and needing a new job/school at the end of the season. If that doesn’t appeal, your job is to get him over the park practicing the basics and watch his diet….DyerConsequences said:Big rush of players in the last 2 days before the season started. McAtee is a very good footballer but is not consistent enough as a goal scorer .. be interesting to see how he fits in at BoltonScoham said:

Good signing for them although I think he lacks a bit of technical ability. Him and Dobson won’t stop running though.DyerConsequences said:Wrexham have signed Midfielder Ollie Rathbone from Rotherham for an undisclosed 'club record' fee. Their past record was £300k0 -
The proof is in the pudding and they are not making serious strides in the market. They are a lower mid table team at present and will gladly have £20 with you towards the upbeats that they do not finish top half.Redhenry said:

party might be the problem but without addressing that problem, what’s the point in having a big pot of money. The season has started and if their targets have gone elsewhere, then they are on the back foot.1
