Ipswich are set to sign Sammie Szmodics from Blackburn, highlighting the Championship feel of the squad.
Signing top players from the league below, which may or may not work in the PL, but if they do go back down they've at least got a top quality championship player for next season.0 -
Spurs signing 19yr old Winger Wilson Odobert from Burnley. Looked good in flashes for Burnley but assume this is a depth signing.0

Maguire booked for a dive - glad to see that VAR didn’t get involved0

Right, ahead of PL 2024/2025, here's my prediction...
1. Arsenal
2. Liverpool
3. Man City*
4. Aston Villa
5. Spurs
6. West Ham
7. Newcastle
8. Man Utd
9. Chelsea
18. Southampton
19. Ipswich
20. Leicester
Arsenal win it comfortably. Liverpool have got a free hit under Arnie Slot and the fans will give him time. Man City finish 3rd but could be much lower if they are docked points. Spurs finish outside the top 5. West Ham surprise everyone and finish above Newcastle, Man Utd and Chelsea.

Last summer Villa sold Cameron Archer to Sheffield United for £18m.
Then in July they exercised a relegation clause and bought him back.
Now they've sold him to Southampton for £15m.
I'm sure there is a logic to all this!0 -

I can't see Villa being as high as 4th, their squad isn't strong enough to cope with CL football as well so i think we'll see a drop off as they juggle that and the league. People also need to remember that the CL has expanded so sides will now play 8 group games that continue into January and then some sides will go into a play off. You could have to play TEN games to reach the last 16. That's a lot to manage.
I think Chelsea will be a lot higher than 9th, and if they sign Osimhen i think they'll be top 4. They're also only in the conference league so should be able to rotate their squad easily.
Currently i'd go 1. Arsenal 2. City 3. Liverpool 4. Spurs 5. Chelsea 6. United. 7. Newcastle. But that could change depending what other signings we see in the next fortnight.0 -
Southampton's squad still feels a bit " players that have been really good in the Championship" in places especially up front with Stewart, Archer,Adam Armstrong and Bereton-Diaz. Will be interesting to see if Russell Martin can adapt his style to the Prem or if they get a couple of hammerings early on with how they play.0

No Joe Gomez in the Liverpool squad today... Cmon Liverpool, sell him for £80m and give us that windfall5
-
Ian Maatsen on the bench for Aston Villa tonight... I didnt realise the players that West Ham have brought in this summer0
-
Nice of Sky to give us a foreign interviewer... So we not only struggle to understand the answers, but also get to struggle the understand the questions0
-
Not sure how West Ham get this penalty... Cash has got his toe on the ball as he's gone in for the tackle, and the VAR referee has said he doesnt think Cash makes an attempt to get the ball?0
-
Cash sticks out a leg and touches the ball.Ruled as “not an attempt to touch the ball”
Regardless of the decision (some will agree and some won’t).But the language VAR use…They really don’t help themselves.2 -
This referee is dreadful.0
-
That is a ridiculous decision. How can you get any consistency when that’s given, there would be 10 pens every weekend if there was.0

They've just said the VAR judged it that "there was a touch but not a clear play of the ball".
I mean, wtf does that even mean? Just seen it - he sticks out his leg and gets a flick on the ball and then the two collide. It's absolute bullshit.3 - Sponsored links:

Getting a touch on the ball does not mean it’s not a foul0

South London treble.
Perfect football weekend!4 -
For all the talk about the Referee blowing his whistle too early, for that Palace disallowed goal - Wasn't there a game @ Shithurst Park a few years ago, where the referee blew for a Free-Kick against Palace, just as the team blew the net.
So again the goal that day couldnt go to VAR0 -

Not something that usually bothers me - but Chelsea’s Shirt! Looks like it was designed by a 4 year old.1
