Their £100m midfielder shows his true racist colours at the Copa America and with half the Chelsea squad unfollowing him on social media in protest, Chelsea reward him with the captaincy.
So Chelsea.
The irony of said £100m midfielder not putting in a tackle before Kovacic, their ex player, scored... who replaced their home grown captain from last season who has now been exhiled from their first team because they are trying to flog him to balance the books...and the manager complains about them rules because they are being forced to sell academy products... but had they not spunked the GDP of a third world country on however many players they have bought under the new ownership, they wouldnt have needed to do it...
So Chelsea...
The remainder of Raheem Stirling's 3 year contract is worth £70m. Good job they've only got him on a 5 year contract and no players on longers contracts than that... oh wait a minute.
So Chelsea...
What an absolute circus.
Even if they manage to offload Sterling, unless it's to Saudi they're surely going to have to cover about 200k a week of his 325k a week wages. He's also unlikely to be the last player we see making comments in the media.
As Carragher said on MNF last night, if you have a squad of 40+ players it's impossible to fit them all in a changing room, never mind in a matchday squad. How do you even put on a training session with 40 players? We've all heard in the past a manager saying he's got 1-2 unhappy players, "xx player came to knock on my door" etc.......... but they could have 20 unhappy players.
I can see Chelsea completely collapsing and it won't be Marescas fault , that squad construction is never going to work with the amount of players wanting minutes. There isn't enough time left in the window to shift the ones out that they want gone and no side is going to succeed when their main striker is Nicolas Jackson.
They can't just loan a load of them to Strasbourg under the new rules so I can't see how this works out.
Literally an extension of last season. Plenty of possession, no cutting edge and a desperate lack of quality in the wide positions. All summer we've been after wingers and last night proved why.
Same old story at the back. The world cup / copa america winning vice captain goes to sleep following the ball leaving Vardy completely unmarked, WTF.
Only positives last night was the contributions of Gray and Bergvall when they came on.
Surprised Big Vic had words with Bergvall after he gave the ball away, he was sold short by the two senior defenders.
Big Ange getting a lot of stick on the forums this morning.
Dont know why I'm surprised. Same old same old.
Definitely 2 points dropped already against a team unlikely to get many all season.

Was surprised that Kulusevski didn't start. From (the admittedly very little) of what i've read of your pre-season he seemed your most lively player, scored a few goals. Come the first league game........benched and gets 10 minutes at the end.
Bergvall looks a serious talent, always looking to get on the ball and be progressive when he gets it. I don't think he's far away from starting from you. Poor from Vicario though screaming at him, yes it could've been costly but he's an 18 year old kid making his debut.

Agree with all of that. Kulusevki has been outstanding by all accounts pre-season then he gets benched. I have no idea why tbh. We was all scratching our heads when the line up was announced in our whatsapp group. To be fair, Johnson had arguably one of his best 45 mins for us in the first half, he was really causing them some problems but then he was a passenger second half.
Ange's system is crying out for quality in the wide positions. All summer we've been linked with quality wingers like Eze, Neto, Chiesa...then we've brought in a young fella from Burnley who I've never heard of in all honesty and some 18yo South Korean, who Levy no doubt hopes he turns into the second coming on Sonny to keep the 20,000 South Koreans who come to watch interested.
Vicario should have been screaming at Porro, Romero and the nearest CM who all failed to give him an option.

Barcelona have decided to let Gundogan leave on a free just 1 year into a 3 year contract.
It's expected he will now be back at Man City before the weekend.
Very smart bit of business from City , I know Gundogan is 33 but his game has never been about pace and there'll be no time needed to get him up to speed.
Ipswich have signed Jack Clarke from Sunderland for 15m + a potential 5m in add ons.
A very good window for them signing top championship players like Szmodics, Greaves, Clarke, as well as the loans of Broja and Phillips. Also signed Omari Hutchinson who was with them on loan last year.
I think they'll scrape by as usual. The bigger issue would be losing Eze but I don't think that's going to happen unless City do something. Think I saw they have a CB from Benfica ready to go as one of the replacements so they're clearly comfortable with it.
Also getting £8m from Leicester for Jordan Ayew is actually good business.
Excellent early KO match on TNT. Brighton get a late winner against Man United when their defence went AWOL for the MOM João Pedro to head the winner. 3 Brighton players unmarked in the box in added time !

Some of the best passing I've seen recently and it all disappeared after conceding one, mental.
Absolutely love Jamie Vardy, proper sh*thouse griefing the away fans 😂

Disorganised mess!
Wolves make a loan offer for Aaron Ramsdale. Would be daft not to accept this.

Heart says that having to replace both Guehi and Andersen in the last week of the window will leave Palace struggling early on.
Head says those fuckers know what they're doing and will find perfectly good replacements.

A few people went with a 2-1 win for Brighton
