Hilarious. Rice sent off and gets kicked to rub salt into his wounds!

Well, that sending off will dominate the discussions this weekend.

I still can't work out what they gave his second yellow card for?

I think you can argue a red by the laws of the game. As much as it looks very soft, he does kick the ball away.

Once again, the argument will come down to consistency. I've seen that plenty of times and very rarely has it been given a yellow.

Kicked the ball away to stop a quick free kick. One of the things refs are meant to be clamping down on I thought.

Except João Pedro did exactly the same thing in the first half for no booking.

The usual consistency in the Premier League. Referees have to make everything all about them.

Wondered how long it would take.

No-one logged into Arsenal Life you can agree with?

Arteta’s reaction to Rice going off says it all. He knows it was the right decision.

Kicking the ball away is questionable, he nudged it about 30cm, but i agree it was silly of him to even give the ref a decision to make. If he'd just kept on slowly walking away it would be fine and the guy still wouldn't have been able to take the free kick quickly.

I was watching it on silent so didn't realise they had given a free kick, if that's a second yellow, as well as dissent is meant to be now, then every game should finish 8 Vs 8
  • In a strange way it might actually help Arsenal, got their typically quiet and flat crowd going.

So be it, cheating is cheating, it’s about time this nonsense was clamped down on, players will soon stop.

I like Rice but that was extremely stupid to kick away as bloke trying to take free kick. As someone else said, could have just carried on walking away slowly for same effect

The time added on continues to baffle me.
Towards the end of the Arsenal Brighton game the commentators told us that there were 6 minutes to be added on. After they said this, there was a lengthy stoppage for Gabriel being winded and another to book the Arse goalkeeper for timewasting. Yet the final whistle was blown almost exactly on 96 minutes. It tells players that timewasting works if you’re willing to take a yellow for it.

This is the way to kick the ball away.

  • Another week, another hat trick for Haaland.

He currently has more goals than any of the other 19 PL teams.

    This is a crazy stat:

Most goals scored in the Premier League since Haaland's arrival:
    70 goals - Erling Haaland
    39 goals - Mohamed Salah
    34 goals - Ollie Watkins

Runours that van der Venn and Udogie missing for Spurs today.

Good job we bought another pacey LCB.... oh wait....
  • Andy Hinchcliffe (co comms on sky) must have caught Nick Pope with his wife or something.

Slagging him off at every possible opportunity.

    That is ridiculous
  • Spurs have totally dominated this second half, should easily be in front, then one ball carves the entire defence apart and they're 2-1 down.

I've been Pope's biggest fan over time but. to be fair, he was right about the two that he pushed away. Equally, he has praised him for the subsequent saves that kept Newcastle in the game saying how important they were to his side

I know what you mean, but take solace in the fact that these two wanky clubs shared just 2 points rather than 3.

Thats Carragher for you. Never understand why Sky allow him to commentate on Liverpool games, hardly an unbiased opinion is it.

    It’s more Drury tbh.
Talks in riddles and screams the players names every time they shoot.
I reckon Neville & Carragher must have tinnitus sat next to him!
  • Surely now they have Ugarte, this is the last time Casemiro plays for United.

Lost possession 11 times including for both goals.
  • Liverpool and Slot look a match made in heaven. If City get their deserved points hammering, then Liverpool will be very hard to beat this year
