Can't see this having any legs at all. Plenty of other clubs Abdullah could buy that are actually for Sale.
  • Our ownership model is so complicated I’d imagine buying us would be a nightmare. Far easier targets out there who might welcome the interest. Does anyone know exactly how our ownership is made up ? I don’t.

Abdullah bin Mosaad Al Saud Net Worth when he bought the Blades in 2013, The Telegraph reported he had a personal fortune of $18 billion. However, the Daily Mail reported him to have a net worth of only £198 million in 2020.
  • Wasnt there a bit of a messy handover from the old Sheff Utd owner to him?

Someone on here was saying a month or so ago that the owners were looking to get out. Not that I believe that or the above but if they could turn a decent profit they might be tempted. Hope they are not though.

The owners aren’t running a charity
    Everything has its price
Anybody paying enough to give the owners any return on their investments to date would be congenitally insane
douchebag did that with the spivs
Why anyone pays any attention to Nixon is baffling

They were all over here on the way to Sheffield or UAE, and just cheering after we scored because the price had gone up. They had already seen the library, made an offer for the Lego Valley, and thought we may as well Cashout now.
  • Josh Friedman didn’t seem like a man looking to get out yesterday.
He didn’t and the comments by lifers who had the opportunity to speak with the owners yesterday were very encouraging. I wonder though if the raft of smaller percentage shareholders might be tempted to earn a quick buck. I like to think I follow what goes on reasonably closely but I don’t really know who owns what. I’m sure plenty do and I for one would be very grateful if someone could clarify things as best they can. Strange Nixon has decided to run with this. Hard to believe there’s much in it.

The biggest obstacle remains Roland and his pie in the sky property valuations.

Look at what Henry wrote just two posts prior to yours.

The club has changed hands multiple times since Roland first sold us, so it can’t be that huge an obstacle to a potential sale. It’s not a great situation to be in however.

Most credible investors wouldn’t touch us without the physical assets, it is a big obstacle.
That being said, this current lot are doing all the right things IMO.

Gavin Carter was listening to Charlton Live this morning - someone tweeted us about it which was the first I'd heard of it. So I invited Gavin to comment about it in the chat and he said it was the first he'd heard of it too.
You're both fully plugged in then!

I bet Ronnie Moore knows ......

There is always the sellers price and the buyers price, both sides know this.
Personally, I think the owner has the advantage of prospective buyers with us.
That said a piece by Nixon is about as reliable as anything else in sport. Write as many pieces as does and he will be half right at some point.
Like many others, he blocked me on twitter years back just for pulling him up on nonsense he was writing about us during the long takeover.

If the chosen 'journalist' to spread rumours/news about yourself is Nixon, then there's not a lot to be interested in.

If this had come from Cawley, it would be taken a bit more seriously... other than that, nah.

I think and hope that it's bollox. The current owners and leadership team have got the club moving in the right direction - not faultless but the best we've had, in my opinion, since Richard Murray moved on. I'd love there to be a period of stability and progression rather than yet more upheaval.

Maybe the owners where over yesterday to discuss terms...who knows, the current owners seem okay but we haven't exactly moved forward on the pitch, last season was shocking

They didn't need to travel here to discuss terms or bring four of their children with them either.

It is still early days and on the field their tenure has not been a success as yet.

Lots of good things happening, the pitches, NJ, money spent on players, etc but the only KPI that matters is promotion.

So far this season, very good but while I'm optimistic there is a long way to go.

Still think this story is nonsense.

To be fair to Nixon, he doesn't say that our owners are looking to sell, or even that they've spoken to Prince Abdullah.

All the story says is that he is looking at buying an EFL club, with us being one on his radar. Nobody at Charlton may know anything about this, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's false.

Has any other club been traded as much as us recently?. We seem to be in constant Owner/Manager churn

From a reliable source at Sheffield United.
