Getting ready for our handful of new signings,  hopefully  ;)
Did former player Alan Campbell wear this shirt?

He transferred to Birmingham in 1970. One of my favourite players.
  • Interested why people keep referring to Docherty as a goalscoring midfielder, doesn’t massively seem like it from his previous record?

    Mine too.

I’ll never forget the winner he scored against Millwall.

The original Alan Campbell scored a fantastic solo goal against Northampton once.
    Great player.

He’s not but it’s how Jones is looking to use him, though I imagine that changes when Berry starts.

  • I may have got this wrong but it seems like Jones teams have always had workmanlike midfielders with creativity coming from the wingbacks. Understand the obsession with more creativity in the middle of the park but think we have to let Jones mould his team how he wishes. Campbell would be a top player at this level.

You're totally right, Jones likes his teams to create chances by forcing errors and not with silky football.

He’s usually played deeper, but it’s clear from what Jones and Docherty have said, the positions he’s taking up and the shirt number he’s been given that we are expecting him to play that role.

Has registered 7G 8A for Shrewsbury at this level before. 6G 4A for Hull at this level also. So his record at league 1 level has been decent enough, with him and Berry I think we have enough goals from that area

Poster on the other side saying Allan Campbell been at SL all day today.
If we’re signing players that didn’t score for Millwall last season, I’d rather have nisbit

reckon a loan would be good for both of us, drop a division to get his goals back, wouldn’t have to move but would have a little Scotland contingent (think he was at hibs with Docherty)

Thought he was already gone back to Scotland?

Didn’t think it had been done, I know Aberdeen and hibs were interested

Campbell would be a great signing, one Scot replacing another too.

Can't see Travers dropping to League One.

Travers will have the pick of the championship to go. Unfortunately not much chance he drops to League 1
  • Hopefully he goes somewhere in the Championship and ousts a decent No.1 'keeper at that level, who be happier down in League One than sitting on the bench ;)

Once again always the bridesmaid never the bride...figuratively speaking of course...🤔

Turns out he’s having a medical at Aberdeen right now

Wasn’t an actual rumour anyway just me saying I’d rather him than Campbell
  • The original Alan Campbell was a skinny striker, not 6ft, but could hang in the air for ages and out jump big lumps.

    Erm……no he wasn’t. You’re thinking Matt Tees.
