I have a Nord VPN.
They keep contacting me with soon to run out offers.
The trouble is I don’t have a clue what those offers are or mean, they might just as well be speaking to me in Vogon.
Nord for me are in a long line of things I have, but also join a very long line of things that will eventually ask me ‘forgotten your login?’, ‘forgotten your password?’, ‘what is your membership number?’ and so on.
These situations usually lead to you getting an electronic mail, which means closing what you’re doing, opening the mail for a code word or something, then re opening the site and having to start all over again.0 -

If I was shown something I have no motivation to remember the convoluted processes, I am satisfied if things simply work.

I use a VPN as well for that extra layer of safety especially when you're on the internet "sailing the high seas" *wink, wink*. As others have mentioned it can be a pain with some websites refusing to work with it active, oddly I always have issues with ticketing websites.DRAddick said:

I live in Portugal and watch BBC, ITV etc without any issues using Nord. Well I've bitten the bullet and signed up for Nord VPN, via Charlton. Seems to be working but the real test will come Saturday at 3pm.0

Another vote for NordVPN, have used them for years. Went through a dodgy patch 3-4 years back (connectivity, speed, not hiding your true location) but have been reliable ever since.
I have two different accounts, but only one of them live at any point, so that I always have a good offer at renewal time.0 -
I also use Nord no real problems.
Although I couldn’t buy a ticket for Euro millions this morning until I landed back in the UK.
However if I abroad I can always log in and watch the 3.00pm games.

So, a few questions for experienced users.
Do I now select a different country, eg USA, then go to the Charlton website and pay for the game, the same way you would do for a game last season that you could watch legally?0 -

Worth deleting history, cache etc before changing location and loading up the site.

I have never had issues paying and watching Charlton TV whereas ITV and BBC can be a bit more fussy. I have even had the VPN with a UK address by accident and the coverage didn't work of course but I went into another country and it worked without me having to exit the website.0

I’m asking for a friend (let’s call him Bill) who thinks he may have got the wrong end of the stick regarding the way Nord Vpn works. He used to have 2 different VPN apps on a fire stick, which allowed him to watch TV series that you would otherwise have to pay for FOC. Once in the app and connected to a VPN, you remained in the app but got an electronic program guide from which you could choose live TV, or lists of series from which to pick one.
Having downloaded Nord, it appears that you don’t get to choose within Nord what to watch, but connect to a VPN, back out of the app (the VPN remains on in the background) then choose a streaming service.
All well and good if you know what you want to watch, and in what streaming service to find it, but no way of browsing an EPG. Bill says Nord isn’t a way to watch free content, is he right?

Bill is correct. Nord effectively lets Bill browse the internet from any country he likes. If a show he likes is on Netflix in Australia Bill can set his VPN to Australia and use his Netflix account to watch in Australia. I use Surfshark too. I've just come back from South Korea, and was able to watch BBC iPlayer over there on my Android tablet with no problems. Channel 4 was more of a faff, but changing the time zone of my tablet back to UK time did the trick. I didn't need to clear my internet history at all.PragueAddick said:

Not wanting to miss out on what could be our biggest match since Wembley I signed up to a VPN last night so I can watch Charlton TV on Sat afternoon.
It says I'm in Oslo. Is this ok to pay Charlton TV & watch the game from my sofa (which is not in Oslo) or do I need to be in a non-EU country that doesn't have this silly banning order.
Sorry for my ignorance......

You need to check which countries have a broadcast deal with the EFL, as you won't be able to use those, and nearer servers should mean less lag.
