    Happened many years back for a friendly in August 1974 - the attendance was not far short of a thousand and I am sure most of them were Charlton fans.

    My befuddled mind recalls a bar behind one end with a view over the pitch. To the best of my memory, we drank the bar dry by half-time. Oh, and we lost the game one-nil.

    Ball 49 winner away please, hopefully the home side win and we can say Charlton played at the Olympics.

    I'm testing my old memory again Kap, but I was there at this game and I'm sure it was Doncaster Rovers and 1-3 when the game was called off at HT and we had reached 4.45pm !


    They were down to ten men, I thought we had a chance of coming back to win it, but the conditions were appalling.  We won the second game 2-0, just to rub salt in to their wounds.

    An interesting away fixture, i.e. not a L1 side or one of the "regular fixtures" would be good.

    Instead we'll probably end up at home to MK Dons

    We played them many many years ago in consecutive weeks in different competitions, we lost 6-0 and 3-2, Johnny Oostergarrd and all that.

    Hednesford Town, who face Gateshead in a replay, will be the only tier 8 side to feature in the first round draw.

    Tier 7 sides who have confirmed their place in the first round proper are Horsham, Guiseley, Harborough Town and Kettering Town. Taunton Town & Gainsborough Trinity face replays to join them.
