MATCH THREAD (+post p20) : Charlton Athletic V Bromley : BSM Trophy : Tues 12 November 2024 KO 19:00

So tonight we take on the mighty BROMLEY in the last group stage match of this years BSM Trophy, and we sit proudly at the top of the pile, and will finish there irrespective of tonight's result, it would almost be worth it losing tonight and leaving Chelski U21's propping us all up...🙄
Somehow, can't see too many in The Valley tonight, hopefully there will be a few watching the stream and contributing to the thread...
Be interesting to see which way Nathan plays this one, but with no game Saturday, could well see a strong(ish) line up...
Tonight's fixture marks the first competitive meeting between the two sides.
So, here we go...next stop Wembley!
Academy starlet Kai Enslin will become the 1,001st player to represent the club since Charlton became a league club in 1921.
The 19-year-old starts tonight's Bristol Street Motors Trophy tie against Bromley, as Nathan Jones makes five changes.
The nature of the team Jones has selected means they could line-up in a number of formations.Â
Ashley Maynard-Brewer starts again in goal with Nathan Asiimwe, Rarmani Edmonds-Green, Zach Mitchell, Macaulay Gillesphey and Josh Edwards a potential back five.
Enslin may be joined in midfield by skipper Conor Coventry, Terry Taylor and Luke Berry, with Gassan Ahadme leading the line.
Tommy Reid, Josh Laqeretabua, Greg Docherty, Allan Campbell, Miles Leaburn, Danny Hylton and Henry Rylah make up the substitutes bench.

A bit annoying that Tayo Edun is suspended, as he's someone who could have done with some game time.5

Is the commentary on CAFC TV tonight?0

Wait seriously? We're playing tonight? Christ alive. I've enjoyed the BSM so far but absolutely cannot be bothered with it today. We've qualified no matter what so just risk 0 first team players and put out some randoms. Quite funny/sad that Edun, the only first team squad player who could actually benefit from tonight, is suspended but that's on him so I hope I don't recognise a single name tonight. Apart from Hylton, that will amuse me.

Well I'm going on what promises to be a cold night but my daughter wants her football fix.Â
The Chelsea game was quite entertaining. No idea if this will be.Â
Hope to see some of the youth stake a claim5 -
So excited for another Kent Derby!! - We're set for an exciting grudge match between the established League side, and the team punching above their weight having entered the Football League just a few months ago... a WIN for Bromley sees them leap into second place... with the Addicks already secure in first place.
Who will win... Who will advance to the second round... Who will get hacked by Danny "Bites Ya Legs" Hylton first...2 -
Our annual remembrance ceremony will take place ahead of tonight's Bristol Street Motors Trophy tie with Bromley at The Valley, shame there won't be too many in attendance, was scheduled for the Peterborough game, till it was pulled...1

This is is our only chance of getting to Wembley this year and I still couldn't give a fuck about this competitionÂ0
-
As much as I dislike this competition, it’s the only time I can see a Charlton team string two forward passes together and score a few goals.3

Back to 3 at the back, if it was broke, but the new thing you're using is broken too, why not try the broken thing again on a whim?Â

Some kind of 3421 with Berry and Enslin as 10s off of Gas??? Not quite sure what to make out that formation could be.Â0

Looks about right in terms of First Teamers involved given that we've no game now at the weekend.
Taylor almost seems entirely undroppable at the moment - Gone from the cold, to not even being rested in these games
Enslin becomes V1001; Reid can still be V10020 -
Never heard of EnslinÂ2

Feel for Toby Bower again... Feels like he's going to be one the few at this rate from that Age group, never to be given a chance!!
Wasnt Enslin one who missed a decisive penalty in a U18 Play-Off Final against Sheff Utd a few years ago? - Has come a long way since then if so!!0
