Whatever the formation can’t say it isn’t attacking
The trouble is, just throwing more forwards on the pitch doesn't necessarily make it attacking. Or at least effectively attacking. Being attacking is as much about how much you have of the ball and in what areas, how you move the ball, how quickly you regain possession and look to get forward or break, taking risks in possession. To do those things the balance of players you have in the team and the balance you strike between attack and defence must be right. You can start with just a goalie and 10 strikers, doesn't mean you automatically score more goals.

This team does not look balanced to me and has almost zero pace or width. Like @ValleyGary says, it's set up to lump it forward, imo. A hit and hope team selection to play hit and hope football.

Hopefully I'm eating my words at full time.

I like Berry Leaburn and Godden players who know where the onion bag is

1-4 Charlton even we can beat pub sides

mrs and petrol head up there tucking in to a burger with the thousands of other Charlton fans, I’m sat on sofa scratching my nuts
And there you were on the preview saying they were the losers...🙄

I’ve always wanted to be a fan of K Anderson as he runs around a lot and committed but lacks creativity. He’s so is like my favourite chicken after I had severed its head. We have a very good forward line just feeding on scraps.
  • Sorry but it looks like a last throw of the dice by Jones to me.

Can't be anything else as he has never played this formation before. (Or at least not here)

And playing 3 forwards doesn't guarantee goals if you don't get the ball to them.

Has all the makings of a very difficult night for us.
  • 2 nil win. Let's turn this run around tonight Charlton. COYA!
  • Is he in any serious trouble if lose tonight?

3-2-1-3 formation with Berry in front of Coventry and Anderson, Godden, Miles an Ahadme up front?

Saying who were the losers ?
I said they’re weirdos and should be certified for going and I said we’d win , let’s not make stuff up 🙄
  • If I’ve ever seen a team that suggest lump it forward asap this is it
That's how we play every game, so it makes sense to pick the best players for our agricultural tactics.

We’ll go 1-0 down in the 14th minute leading to an utter meltdown on here. We will then come back and win 2-1, unconvincingly. No-one will be quite sure what to think and thus the agony is prolonged.

The line up definitely looks like a fuck it let’s go for it scenario to me. We should beat this lot comfortably no matter what our starting team is but if they score first it could get very nervy. Lose tonight the NJ has to be under massive pressure imo
  • I remember Pearce getting that winner against Burton!

That team was light years ahead of the current side.

Looks like a 4-3-3 without attacking wingers. Weird choice but at least Jones is trying something different.
  • Proper old school away support tonight not even opened the terrace 😂
  • Got a feeling this will be the 0-4 result we all would really love....🍺🍺
  • When you look around that ground and crowd, you realise just how far we have fallen.

And how absurd it is we are not even confident of a win.

They just showed the equivalent game from 2019. We had Bielik, Fosu, Aribo, Grant  Lyle Taylor, Solly, Bauer and Sarr in the side. Shows how far we are away from a promotion side.

Either I missed that game, or I managed to tune it out completely.
  • Teams are out... back in our all grey kit, rather than with the yellow socks tonight, bit disappointing as liked that combo. Might be understandable as Burton wear yellow socks, but my night is still ruined now!!
  • 300+ travelling Addicks up there tonight...massive respect to you all...
