I mean, we let them live down here and put up with them nicking our jobs, fornicating with our women, moaning about our tropical climate, complaining they can't get a decent pint of mild, but there's no way we should have to put up with that FILTH. Got to draw the line somewhere.
Down my way best fish and chips are Minnie Berthas in Bexhill. Best I’ve ever had is in Camelford, North Cornwall. They are so expensive now these days. Was told since Covid the cost of potatoes has risen more than the cost of fish.
Also had superb chips in Camelford. I think it was called Peckish - opposite a car park.

Love that part of the world. Had some great cottage holidays there. St Breward, St Tudy, Chaple Amble, Trebarwith Strand, Port Quin, St Endellion to name just a few. Favourite beach is Polzeath.
Away this weekend at a beach chalet near Cromer. Now usually F n C at the seaside cant be beaten but had some last night from shop very nearby and was very disappointed. Chips tiny and over cooked, and yes the cod was cooked fresh but it was tasteless. Deffo had better at home.

It's wrong on every level if you live north of Birmingham as well! Our chippy of choice in Nantwich has it all, mushy peas, curry sauce and gravy (who the feck has gravy on fish and chips?). If they ask me if I want anything with it I usually reply with "a few more chips would be nice".
I am not interested in fish, but like chips. However I do home made and this is my system. Bear in mind a portion of chips anywhere local lands in the region of £3. First an Gino D’Acampo air ’fryer’ from ASDA for around £39(re useable). Then a large baking potato from Sainsbury’s for around 25-40p. Peel potato and cut into chips, not too thick, not too thin. Soak cut chips in cold water in a mixing bowl. Rinse and wash chips again, and lay chips on a clean t-towel to dry. Set air fryer to start at about 190. Dry mixing bowl, and chuck dried chips in it. Pour a very small amount of oil in the bowl, enough to make the seasoning stick. Add generous helping of Sainsbury’s chip seasoning, plus some paprika, some ground black pepper, some salt, and the magic ingredient some cornflower. Use a spoon to turn and mix well into the chips so all surfaces are covered and sticky, don’t worry about thoroughness but the chips will become a kind of reddy brown.. Cook in the warmed air fryer in five minute spells. Shake and mix up the chips on each inspection. Use a sharp knife to test when cooked, depending on the size of the chips you cut it should take 15 to 20 minutes. Whilst chips cook, clear up stuff. Eat chips when done.
I know reading this feels like a faff, but it doesn’t take much longer than going down the chip shop and bringing chips home, and after the purchase of the air fryer, the oil and the seasonings (all of which can last a long while) you’re paying around 30p for a decent portion of hot fresh home cooked chips rather than £3, with for me the additional bonus of the chips not affected by oil used to cook fish.

Is that in the small parade of shops between the lights that takes you to Sundridge Pk and the mini roundabout taking you to Chislehurst ? A bit out the way but will try it if passing.
We are off Burnt Aah Lane nr Lidl. There is a kebab shop & a Morley's. Was a fish & chip shop there but closed down in the summer.

Sometimes change works.
And proper chips don't have paprika on them.
