This might be the time to mention the only serious attempt to disrupt/take down the Dossier website. We'd always braced ourselves for DDOS attacks ot huge waves of spam, but they never came.
However a year or so ago, we suddenly got an email from an official looking US based website alleging plagiarism. The website was actually a private company offering to settle cases of online plagiarism quickly, for a fee of course. It provided a link to a website which supposedly owned the original work. This turned out to be some kind of blog with the title Sport something and which only had this one article, both the image and the text had been lifted from one of the pages detailing a Dossier Wrong-un. The alleged owner/complainant was a woman who gave an address in Idaho, and helpfully a phone number. I rang it. It was "unavailable". I looked up the address which was an empty plot in what looked like idyllic countryside with scenic views.
Fortunately ChatGPT had launched by then, and we simply asked it to minimally revise the text of that section without in any way changing the sense or details. We whacked up the new text, and waited. Nothing happened. After a couple of months we thought it had gone away, but then we got another email from the same pseudo official site with another plagiarism complaint. It did not refer to the previous one, but created a new one, different name, address and dead phone number of the complainant. So pretty much immediately we just fired up ChatGPT and changed the text again. And this time "they" went away for good.
Now we could not pin down for sure who was behind this. However you'll note that the nature of this attack was not tech based but rather an attempt at harassment at a human level, and relying on fear of the law rather than tech to create the sense of long-term hassle and possible financial cost.
So you will be less than amazed and gobsmacked to learn that in both cases the "plagiarism" asserted related to the Dossier's detailed section on Chris Farnell 🤣.43 -

On first glance, like most others I suspect, I just saw this as another ‘attack’ on the club I support and the reaction was to figuratively form a defensive circle with the wagons and start shooting.
Then I thought there must be trails and footprints for the money either physically or figuratively leaving Elliot’s account and ending up in Charlton’s account and some evidence of why it was done (ie loan or other) so QED on whether it took place one way or another.The question would arise as to how it was evidenced/accounted for if it did happen and why Tommy’s people not seeing anything when he bought the club.
But then the mention of the events that led up to it all made me think that those at the time that we saw as opportunists to be repelled seemed to have just walked away from the chaos that almost wiped out the club and, that just maybe, this case could be the can of worms that needs opening in order to bring some more clarity to what really went on.We all said we won’t forgive and forget them so this might be an opportunity to bring to light a bit more about what went on.3 -
