My guess is (nothing to back it up), that NH asked for January funds to push-on for a top 6 spot - and the board said no.

Bring him in…anyone is better than we have got in right now…1

Perhaps he was not wrong then?SoundAsa£ said:

Always liked Harris. Seemed to have too much class for the Turkish flag wavers IMO.

I know a former Millwall player who played with Harris. He hates us as much as I hate Palace. When I told him I was Charlton I thought he was going to hit me!seth plum said:Charlton fans have a mutually felt antipathy towards Millwall, but in football terms, within the local football culture of contacts conversations and encounters I am sure that Neil Harris is respected and well regarded, and he extends that respect to others he knows in the game, including those associated with Charlton.4 -
I suspect there is more behind the scenes than the Thicko comments, as fundamentally what Harris said was correct. Like someone else said assume there was a question of funds in Jan. Ultimately i don't think his comments were aimed at all Millwall fans but a small number and im sure most fans would forgive him if he apologised. Going over this is bizarre.0

I would tend to agree. The Thicko comment is likely just a symptom of a more fundamental underlying malaise.

Harris not happy with the spanners selling one of their youngests to the nigels is what I’ve heard.0
-
Quite possibly but that’s just a fact of football life outside of the Premier League. If that’s his sole reason then he might as well knock management on the head.guinnessaddick said:Harris not happy with the spanners selling one of their youngests to the nigels is what I’ve heard.2 -

There's no way (in my opinion anyway) that he's gone because of the thicko's comment or because there were a few boos at a couple of their recent games.Radostanradical said:I suspect there is more behind the scenes than the Thicko comments, as fundamentally what Harris said was correct. Talking to a mate of mine, it seems that Harris had become increasingly annoyed with the board regarding transfers, for which Gallen as their DoF is ultimately responsible. Allegedly Harris had never even heard of the Serbian they signed in the summer and he's their record signing! There's also quite a few rumours that Esse will be sold in January.
Personally i think his relationship with the board became more fractious and he's said i can't work like this anymore i'm off. Berylson has agreed but said please stay for 2 more games to give us a bit of time to look for a new manager.13 -
Being linked with Palace which would go down well!Chris_from_Sidcup said:

Hopefully someone also comes in for Tanganga as according to my Millwall mates some people down the pub, he is the reason they have a good defensive record.North Lower Neil said:

I am sure he has gone becasue they are selling best players and not giving him any funds so he is off as a result, makes sense0

Must be the first time that a manager leaving by mutual consent has two more games and doesn't go immediately. 🤔1 -

Former Millwall player. He said that none of them ever wanted to be the first to lose to us. It was a dead serious thing for them.seth plum said:

What abuse? There was a few boos after the last couple of lacklustre performances, which is standard at most clubs, but abuse? No, I wouldn’t class it as that.Richard J said:
