"It's beginning to look a slot ... " comment at the end there sounded a little too rehearsed
When I heard Peter Dury say "it's beginning to look a slot..." I assumed he was going to say 'look a slot like Christmas title for Liverpool as they stuff another Turkey' did he finish that sentence later or did the auto cue stop working 🤔
I think some Spurs' fans need to be a bit careful what they wish for. Yes, Postecoglu does seem somewhat set in his ways, tactically, but they've had both Mournho and Conte where the football was somewhat sterile and they both had Kane to bang goals in for them which the current manager doesn't have. They've scored more goals than any other side (39 in 17 matches) and although they've conceded 25, most of those have happened when they haven't their best two CBs playing. To put things in a bit of perspective, only Liverpool (+21), Chelsea (+18) and Arsenal (+18) have a better goal difference than Spurs (+14) and although the likes of Villa have 5 more points, they have a zero goal difference and have let in more goals too. City have 4 more points, have conceded the same number of goals but scored 10 less goals and have Haaland up top.
They need to improve the squad in certain areas, specifically in the CB area for when Romero and VDV are out and buy a decent second choice, footballing type keeper. Every team suffers from injuries but that is the defensive spine and how good would Liverpool be, for example, without VVD, Konate and Allison? Well Kelleher is better than Forster, Gomez is better than Dargusin but having to replace VVD with Quansah would mean that they would only be as good as their weakest link. It's just that Spurs have three weak links when they are out instead of one.
It's another transitional season for Spurs and they have the basis of a very good squad but do need to plug those gaps. Equally, blind optimism isn't a good trait when it comes to managers refusing to tactically change but would Spurs fans be happier if they found themselves in fifth place playing football that they didn't have to watch because they would know the outcome before they left home? Judgement should, perhaps, be reserved after 38 games as the likes of Forest and Bournemouth are by no means certain to maintain their form over the course of the season.
Talking about Forest, remember how Spurs fans clamoured for Nuno Esperito Santo's head after 17 games in charge (Won 8, Drew 2, Lost 7). They got their way because his football was the complete opposite of Postecocglu when they scored 9 PL goals in 9 games with Kane, again, up front. Should Forest maintain their form for the duration then Spurs fans won't be able to have it both ways and say "look at Forest" in one breath because they're in 4th but that he was never good enough for them in the next. Or will they because the argument might be that he has changed his outlook following the criticism at Wolves and Spurs for the way he set those teams up? In which case, perhaps, they should give Postecoglu the opportunity to do the same? It's a far easier thing to become more solid than it is to suddenly find goals at the other end of the pitch after all. Just ask Charlton fans about, even if we have just scored more than two goals in the league for the first time this season.
Arsenal's title challenge has suffered a massive blow with the confirmation today that Saka has torn his hamstring and is likely to be out for at least 2 months.

They have a similar issue to City in that they are very reliant on two players. No one else ever plays on that RW so very interesting to see how they cope
Saw this on twitter today. I think most people would widely accept that Henry was one of, if not the greatest PL player of all time. So given the numbers below where would people put Salah in the discussion?

Right footer coming in from the left vs left footer coming in from the right - mirror images!
Henry looked silky smooth and free flowing in his movement, whilst Salah looks 'busier' with his shorter strides and staccato movement.
So both similar and different with the same result!
Both equal for me (maybe Henry edges it) amongst the very best ever in the Prem, but neither is the best the Prem has seen - that, for me, is Bergkamp.

I hadn't realised how close their stats were.
As they play on the opposite sides, you could play both in an all time PL team, in a 433 formation

Not sure you would though, I'd say a front 3 of Henry, Shearer and Ronaldo would be better.
Appreciate Ronaldo had his best years in La Liga but still won the Ballon d'Or at United.

Salah is probably just behind those 3, though.
I’d argue that Salah does (although less so now) more defensive work than the others mentioned and is up against higher quality defenders
But fair point, granted. I was just triggered by PTSD at the mention of his name, the absolute fucker!
Mo Salah! Mo Salah! Mo Salah! Running down the wing.
Mo Salah la-la-la-la-ahh, the Egyptian King!
(sorry!)
He'll never give me PTSD like Henry did. Will never forget that goal he scored at Highbury. Run 70 yards, beat 5-6 players easily, slotted in then ran 85 yards back up the pitch to slide on his knees in front of us, conveniently just out of reach of anything that could be thrown. Utter despicable behaviour but absolute genius. There was no one like Henry and doubt there ever will be again.

"in the post-match press conference, a leak from the ceiling led to water running onto journalists on the front row, forcing one of them to move."

Would never have guessed that Salah was slightly ahead in comparative terms though.
Two proper world class players though.
Do Georgia hate Robbie Keane still?

Andy Cole had a better goals per game record than Rooney in the PL, not many would say he was a better player.
Bob mentions Bergkamp above, his stats wouldn't stand up to others but he made that Arsenal team tick.
