Can't be too harsh on Alex Mitchell, a rare mistake by him.
  • I enjoyed that... I always thought I would as never really expected us to challenge Preston for the win like what we did.

Actually makes the result frustrating, and is a bit of a sucker punch as a result as we deserved so much more.

Poor in the second half in the end, we looked more of a threat with Ahadme and TC up top tbh tonight.
We looked more of a threat when they gave us more space, rather than it being down to our choice of pairing, in my view

Disappointing result but loads of positives to be taken from the performance. Had enough chances to win it, in truth. Won't be too critical of their second goal, but the first one was suicide from us and ultimately might have cost us a place in round four. More than held our own against a solid Championship team (i.e. what we aspire to be). Play like that in the remaining League One games (as we have in recent League One games) and we'll be in good shape.
  • Very good performance particularly first half, we were far the better team. Small and Campbell both very very good. Rare bad game for Mitchell although the surface was horrific in places.

Thought Karoy looked really good coming on there. Lots of energy as usual but also some more quality on the ball

Will take that... can take heart from the performance and deserved a draw at the very least. Also no more fixture congestion.

We really need to sign an alternative to TC. Again he was brilliant but was knackered second half. Just need a similar option in order to get fresh legs on and rotate

Really unlucky. We were the better team and played as some good football. Hopefully that's the benchmark and if it is, then playoffs are not out of reach. Well done to all those who went tonight

May be we should have gone for a less experienced side and saved the regular starting 11 for the league game coming up.
At least they can now concentrate on the rest of the league season.
Our squad is not strong enough to compete in the league and the cups, we have not had a squad of players who could do so for decades.

Win would’ve been great but feels like the performance somehow means we maintain confidence and momentum

Never looked comfortable all night….poor poor performance….saw one of our Millwall friends asked if he was championship standard a few days ago and we got our answer

WTF is this commentator on? - He's done well, but he mentioned earlier than PNE had a Goal Kick when it was clear from the signalling that it was a corner.

Now he's just done the reverse saying we had a set piece, when it was a GK
Kept talking about Ashley Maynard-Brewer being in goal too
    Wish he had been

I thought we showed why we should be competing at the right end of league one tonight! PNE were very ordinary!

Small was absolutely brilliant. I also think our midfield three of Docherty, Coventry and Berry are there in terms of an understanding of each others games!

A lot of positives to take into our league campaign!

Crikey, I try not to LOL people sarcastically but I'm  struggling there! Mitchell has been outstanding this season

Blackett Taylor back on loan? He's not getting a ton of game time at Derby.

Why? Can't blame Mannion for the first and no chance with the second.

It feels like we've really turned a corner with our performances and that will usually bring us more wins than not. Bring in a quality no10 or winger and that will improve us further. We've got the capability to get play offs if we perform that way week in week out.

Thought Chuks did well in his cameo too, play like that against L1 opposition and he might have scored

Karoy looked decent in his cameo.

We desperately need to start converting our chances.

I thought we were the better side . We just made the one mistake which put us on the back foot .
Small was a right handful and Jones was immense.
They can hold their heads up high going into the Rotherham game .

I'd argue Ahadme's running creates more space as he's constantly moving. The others tend to stand pretty still when they don't have the ball, they don't press as hard out of possession, or always move about to try and get the ball when we have it. Didn't help TC and Small were more tired and more closely monitored too, but it's up to the front line to create space for themselves and others

Kinda shows apart from a lapse of concentration or two we are not too shite

Scored both their efforts on target, and scored from one of their two corners!!
  • Hopefully Gas gets sent on his way now. Has not worked and we are poorer when he’s playing.

PNE fortunate to scrape through that one, disappointing to lose when we were on top for most of the game but mistakes cost you goals and that was the difference, roll on Rotherham.

Apart from playing our best football tonight when he was on the pitch, not that I rate him.
