Think that’s a bit of a myth albeit honoured by large retailers. Thought it was an ‘invitation’ technically and not contractural ?Off_it said:
If it's advertised at the price then they're obliged to honour it.bolloxbolder said:
Ha. Went in there lunchtime for their £5.80 Cod and chips deal. Apparently it ended yesterday , even though advertised in the window.Macronate said:Russ the Chipper along Long Lane, Bexleyheath is good, served in a box as well.
Quite often does good price deals on cod and chips.

Just had cod and chips from the mobile van that parks up in our village every Friday evening. £8.90 and was excellent.

Bromley Hill Fish Bar is still the best (by far) round my way. Trumpy though.0

As in "makes me fart" or as in "openly very right wing"?SuedeAdidas said:Bromley Hill Fish Bar is still the best (by far) round my way. Trumpy though.4 -

Gordon Ramsay opened a branch of his Bread Street Kitchen restaurants here in Bangkok this week.Standard fish & chips is about £19 (before VAT). Very high price, although it is located in the top luxury mall in the city, where a lot of the shops are Gucci, Tiffany, Prada etc, so that's probably the justification. I'm sure it will have queues out the door for a while, despite the prices.0

So you buy your clothes from these top names and they smell of fish and chips ...nice.1

Just off Marylebone High Street. Never liked Seashells.O-Randy-Hunt said:Where abouts in Central do you live.
Have only used the mayfair chippy on North Audley Street but others that are well spoken of are seashell on Lisson Grove, Golden Union on Poland Street and a bit further away from the Marylebone area Kennedys on Goswell Road.
My local chippy in Bexleyheath is about 10-12 quid for fish and chips.
Off topic but a place i need to try for their sausage rolls, pies etc is ginger pig just off Marylebone High Street. Don't suppose you've tried that have you?
Ginger Pig is also in Borough Market....which, unfortunately for me, is about 5 mins from where I work....I wonder why I'm putting on weight?

If i find myself at a loose end and don't fancy the trip to Harrods (or as some here would call it, 'Arrods) for Kerridges very reasonably priced fish and chips, ill take the G-wagon to either the parade fish bar in Crayford or the Fish Stop opposite Danson Park on Parkview Road0

Very reasonable.red10 said:Just had cod and chips from the mobile van that parks up in our village every Friday evening. £8.90 and was excellent.0 -
A bit out of date but often on my way home from Paddington station with a few minutes to spare (especially after the pub) I would use Micky's in Norfolk Place. Much better chips than anything in the station concourse, and in huge portions. It's still there but I can't speak for the quality of the fish.0

Often have a portion of chips on home days from theFish shop in Charlton Village opposite the Swan,2.50,and i rarely finish them because of the amount you get.Absolute bargain especially when you look at the price of the crap in the ground.(And made from real peeled spuds not out of a frozen bag)2

Cutting it fine for a 3pm kick off - you’ll get indigestion eating them and walking to the ground quickly😉😆thickandthin63 said:Often have a portion of chips on home days from theFish shop in Charlton Village opposite the Swan,2.50,and i rarely finish them because of the amount you get.Absolute bargain especially when you look at the price of the crap in the ground.(And made from real peeled spuds not out of a frozen bag)0 -
Me and dad were having a wander around Malmö and for some godforsaken reason, we decided to try the fish n chip shop. When I say 'the', it is the only fish and chip shop in south Sweden.
They raved about it opening last year, so much so that I heard about it Småland, some 150 miles away. Anyway it turned out to be a frozen Findus type fish thing and a mug 'filled' with chips and thimble full of mushy peas. Only about £11, but still more underwhelming than Kirk on the wing!
Can't beat a chippy dinner at Fish Bits or Fish King in Donny. Used to eat at both chippy's pretty often. They both ranked high in the league table locally. A lunch special of fish, chips, sausage and peas was about £4.20 until recently. Both not far from the Keepmoat.0
