So with REG and Z.Mitchell off, the back line is:

    AMB/Mannion
    Ramsay/Watson
    A.Mitchell/?
    Jones/?
    Gillesphey/McIntyre
    Edwards/Small

8 players for 5 places is slightly risky IMO

If we don't add another forward that can play wide then it's a failure, personally

I know NJ likes Josh Laq but I wouldn't want him to have to play in an injury crisis, would rather keep Zach around.

Letting REG go makes sense for the sake of the squad and his career, but letting him go to Orient is absolutely mental.

Strengthening a promotion rival, brilliant business.
I don't think we see it as strengthening them to be honest. I know for a fact Jones didn't rate him at all.
    how do you know that?

Ramsay will fight with Mitchell over a spot, imagine Mitchell will do the same with Jones

Not sure what games you’ve been watching but he’s hardly a bad player, nothing special but hasn’t had any disasters from memory.

He’s a decent player who has already won promotion playing for Rotherham, he’s 100% improving Leyton Orients squad and you’d be silly to think otherwise.
We’ll have to agree to disagree. I think he’s bang average at best
agreed - utility back up man at best

It's baffling that we've left it all to the last minute though. I thought Jones likes getting things done early.

Never really figured out what REG actually was.  Too slow for a full back, not dominant for a CB, not mobile enough for s holding midfielder.

So he could do a bit of a few things but nothing spectacular

clearly he’ll be the second coming of Beckenbauer when we play them but overall not really a loss
Agreed, a handy utility player but certainly not a starter for a team looking for promotion.
  • The only outgoing that doesn’t make sense to me is TT.   We have adequate depth at all other positions but not if Coventry gets injured.  Not Docs natural position and putting Karoy in that position given his ball control issues would be madness.

However my bigger concern is that neither of the two coming in feel like significant upgrades on our starters.  Now maybe I am wrong but neither have been playing much so we are really relying on our scouting of them which let’s face it hasn’t been our strongest attribute

Do that and we’ve done alright, got rid of some of the deadwood as well

This last one that may or may not happen was a very last minute opportunity

I think Laq desperately needs a loan, non-league teams can still make loan signings after the window closes right?

Could be trying to convince players we're in the mix for playoffs, lot easier now than at the start of Jan

It had better be for a fee, otherwise it smacks of cost cutting again.

Players out for a fee......players in on loan (when NJ says he doesn't like loans)

Sounds to me like the purse strings are being tightened.

January is always a domino effect window with signings... Once one club starts to move on players, the rest seemingly falls into place - Until the end of the window, clubs dont really want to let players go if it can be helped, just in case those individuals are needed by their parent club

I think that letting Zac go is possibly a mistake. Apart from that I wish our incomings well.

Seems Zach will stay, so not too bad. Gives him more of a pathway, he has far more potential than REG.

Edit: thought someone said Cawley said Zach's move was off. He still expects it to happen.

None of the fees we've received will be significant, I imagine they're all nominal fees.

Cawley still believes he's on the way out (on loan)

Yeah Laq I believe could go National League South after the window closes. Would be ideal for him tbh.

Sounds like a prem loan to me? Maybe from a London club? Would have to be at this late stage no?

An Andy Scott signing out the door after just over a year with the club.

Disappointing if so. Not been a great window for incomings.
