Now the window has finally slammed shut, I thought it might be an idea for all you ITK's, yes and maybe a few don't know but might be's, to come up with some "February Freebies" out of contract players that could enhance our squad, must be someone out there who is a diamond in the rough...🤔

    From that list Jamie Paterson could do a job.

    Ovie Ejaria was quite highly rated but I don't think he'd be a Jones sort of player. (lazy)

    I don’t suspect we’ll be looking at any of them personally anyway. Think Jones is mostly happy with the squad.

    I wouldn’t hate bringing in Harry Kite as cheap back up for Conor Coventry now that Terry Taylor is out on loan but in reality I don’t think we’ll bother.

    I think Jones likes the squad he has now so I can’t see anyone else coming in. At least we have a settled team now what with the constant starting 11, uptick in results and the team spirit that appears to be running through the squad. Now let’s just hope we can keep clear of injuries.

    The newly released Potts
    Wickham, Hector and L Watson from last season. Indeed it's very surprising that Watson, who was released at the end of August, is still without a club, as he looked good enough to get an EFL club or a top NL one.

    There's no really pacy option there so I think the only way we'd dip into that market is if we got a substantial injury to a key player. If Coventry or Jones get a really bad one then I could see us looking to get someone in on a short term deal. Let's hope none of them are needed.

    What about Dru Yearwood? Used to play for Southend and Brentford was sold to NY Redbulls. About mid to late twenties, defensive midfielder, could provide depth in the middle?

    Easily, based on ability. Must be something else going on there. In his case it seems that Appleton called it right.

    Yes, was on loan at Ipswich last year.

    Surprised he's not been picked up by a Championship side.

    Believe he's had issues with laughing gas - there was a court case due at some point about crashing his car while allegedly under the influence of it, and rumours he was being treated for addiction.

    And won't be match fit for a while after joining, which seems a bit daft when there's only 3 months or so of the season left.

    There's a big difference between those who've been unemployed since last summer, and those who were released at the end of this transfer window. There will be hidden gems (like Small) available.

    Oh fuck I was praying this was over. Looking forward to reading hundreds of pages about players we don't end up signing and how they are shit/good and how we are broke/rich
