The Royal Artillery moved out years ago. The troops based there now have no real connection with Woolwich.
The facade and the parade ground must remain as now but the more modern blocks behind can go. Hopefully the council will not allow tall blocks to replace them and destroy the view from Woolwich Common.
Fortunately the original plan to re-locate the Royal Horse Artillery from their purpose built accommodation has been reversed.
A sad demise with all the issues around the world and we sell off Woolwich Barracks, says it all about how the political landscape has changed since Mr Starmer got through the doors at No 10. Lets just cancel Trooping of the Color along with the other events to save a few more quid. Hopefully their might be a covenant on the land to prevent the sale!
Congratulations on posting the dumbest thing of the year despite it being only February.

"Wow LA, I’d like to thank you the academy for this prestigious honor! It takes real talent to peak this early in the year—I’ll do my best to maintain the standard. 😆👏"

I'm hearing that any leases for new houses & flats built on the land will say that leaseholders must get up at 6am, do 15 mins of drill routines & run 2 laps of the quad every morning 😀.
Haven’t read it all but wonder if something might become of Woolwich common now - must be one of the most underused / uninviting pieces of green open space in London

Part of the common and the barrack field will remain in MOD hands.
The green area next to Hillreach will become a public area.

We don't need an army apparently Stan, armed with our "like" and "lol" buttons, we'll be prepared for any eventuality...
