We don't miss him now, no. However I think we'll miss him in a couple of matches time if we get an injury in midfield and Coventry gets that tenth yellow card.

But there's no real point in keeping him around on a decent wedge just for that scenario.

He's been at Wolves, Grimsby, Burton and Northampton as well as us, I reckon he's more settled in the Midlands overall, and expect to see him sold in the summer. Shame because I really rated him but sometimes it happens where a player and a manager just don't click
Coventry is free now, 10 yellows is a ban only upto our 32nd game, we've played 33 now so the next milestone is 15 and it will be 3 games
  • I'd be interested to know if anyone has ever received 20 yellows in a season.

    The PL record is 14.

Just checking the records…am I spelling Inniss correctly?  😏
His last season with us was a joke, must have been double figures for yellow and at least 2 reds.

Edit: According to FlashScore, it was 9 yellow and 4 reds in our 22/23 season.

Last season, he managed 12 yellow and 2 reds at Forest Green.

    Four Bookings
Twice he got sent off for two bookings in a match
Twice he got a straight red card

Last season with Forest Green he got eight bookings, and was sent off for two bookings on two occasions

Seems to have mellowed this campaign, he's only got three bookings, and has been given one straight red

In Innis' last season with us, he had the worst disciplinary record in English football.

They would pick up a 6 match ban along the way (1+2+3), so you'd need 20 bookings in fewer than 40 games (EFL and NL) or 32 games (PL), and that's assuming no red cards or injuries!

Looking at the PL bad boy table, I surprised Fulham's  João Palhinha had been booked so often. 14 in 22/23 and 13 in 23/24.

Nah, he's on the bench and only been brought on four times :)

Yes but have you seen the red from this season, it wasnt far off the Wimbledon tackle he made for us.

Edit - heres the link to the match watch from 1:25 onwards, tackle is 1:29

The worst i could see was Cheikh Tiote (RIP) in 2010-11, he got 14 yellows in just 26 games.

In 138 PL games he got 52 yellows and 1 red. That's a terrible disciplinary record.

The thing is (and apologies for derailing the thread) he seems to be doing well down there. Thats always going to be a part of his game but he seems to have found his level.

Christ that was a tackle that didnt sound great either!!

Fun fact, Christopher Nolan originally used the audio from the challenge for the scene where they test the A-bomb in Oppenheimer until they cut it as it was too violent.
  • We finished on Saturday with Gilbert playing alongside Docherty in the middle, and he did a good job defensively in added time, so he's an option too for certain situations.

  • Northampton must have scored some shite goals if thats a Goal of the Season contender.

Its still a great Free Kick though
  • That keeping is even worse than our goal last night

Let's hope if he does score again he doesn't celebrate too much. You know what they think about celebrating too much in March.

2:09 is the free kick, which takes a major deflection to beat the keeper, rather than being an unstoppable shot into the top corner.
