To be honest it feels like a good loan all round so far. Some players are good but don't fit in with the manager's style and its suits everyone to make a fresh start. I don't think Taylor did much wrong but we haven't missed him at all since he went and he's showing what he can do at Northampton. Hopefully he builds his profile enough that someone is willing to pay a decent amount of money for him and we can reinvest that in players that suit us better
We don't miss him now, no. However I think we'll miss him in a couple of matches time if we get an injury in midfield and Coventry gets that tenth yellow card.
But there's no real point in keeping him around on a decent wedge just for that scenario.
He's been at Wolves, Grimsby, Burton and Northampton as well as us, I reckon he's more settled in the Midlands overall, and expect to see him sold in the summer. Shame because I really rated him but sometimes it happens where a player and a manager just don't click
Coventry is free now, 10 yellows is a ban only upto our 32nd game, we've played 33 now so the next milestone is 15 and it will be 3 games

The thing is (and apologies for derailing the thread) he seems to be doing well down there. Thats always going to be a part of his game but he seems to have found his level.

Undoubtedly, but apparently he wanted to play more and there's a balance to be struck between having an unhappy player around the place who will only get a game if Coventry is unavailable and having high quality back-up. If Coventry stays fit and we are maybe without him for one or two games I don't think Taylor would have been happy to stay for that level of cameo. If it's just a couple of games then Anderson or Docherty can fill in hopefully without us suffering. Time will tell
We finished on Saturday with Gilbert playing alongside Docherty in the middle, and he did a good job defensively in added time, so he's an option too for certain situations.

Edit: According to FlashScore, it was 9 yellow and 4 reds in our 22/23 season.
Last season, he managed 12 yellow and 2 reds at Forest Green.
Twice he got sent off for two bookings in a match
Twice he got a straight red card
Last season with Forest Green he got eight bookings, and was sent off for two bookings on two occasions
Seems to have mellowed this campaign, he's only got three bookings, and has been given one straight red

Looking at the PL bad boy table, I surprised Fulham's João Palhinha had been booked so often. 14 in 22/23 and 13 in 23/24.

Its still a great Free Kick though
