Can we sign their number 40 best player on the pitch by a country mile. Huffed and puffed and got over the line to a decent footballing side... In my view.
Keilor-Dunn won't be playing in League One next season, much too good.
You say that, but we nullified him completely in the second half; if a player can be that easily marked out of the game then is he that good?
Surely better to judge a player on their apparent ability rather than whether they had a quiet half.
Keilor-Dunn did the mazy run from just in our half and six of our players couldn't get a tackle in, including the excellent Jones and Macca. It was the one real save from Mannion with his legs. I didn't notice him 2nd half but we did negate most of the attacks from Barnsley in the 2nd period with just two scares when Lloyd Jones ducked in our area and Connell had a fine shot that just missed to the left of our goal.
Buzzing after a great result. TC was fantastic but completely fucked at the end as he was on Saturday. Jones his normal brilliant self, Gillesphie very good too as he has been recently. Small & Ramsay great too. I think we have a real team now, onwards and upwards. COYR. 3 points on Saturday.

Reminds me of when Pratley completely took Fraser off the map for MK Dons by following him round. At the time we were happy with Pratley but in hindsight it more told us that if teams know what to do with Fraser then he’s useless
He was the best player on the pitch imo, and was still ok second half, even if not at the same levels as his first half. If he played in a better team (ours!) I could easily see him make the step up to the aChampionship
Campbell was the best player on the pitch for me. Performed throughout his time on the pitch and took on three and sometimes four players again and again and caused havoc. Ran his heart out closing down out of possession and his (and Smalls) attacking prowess stopped their wing backs from joining in attacks. I enjoyed the match as it was a real battle between two very good teams.
They have some talent up front, but restricted to a couple of long range shots that were comfortably treated as pass backs. I would describe the performance as professional. Jones won it with tactical organisation. Fantastic performance to contain and beat such a good side.
Not pretty but at least second half we dealt better with Keilor-Dunn. Thought Jones and Coventry were outstanding but, and fair play to him, Gillesphey was immense. He's really stepped it up the last eight games or so. We came through a really tricky game, with ten away wins they are no mugs, and got the three points and at the end of the day that's all that matters.
I think nabbing second spot is too much of an ask but not impossible. No one will fancy playing us in the play offs that's for sure.
Looking forward to watching the game on Saturday already. COYA
Not sure what Jones was thinking when he ducked under that long throw ?. Apart from that he was excellent and seemed have free range as to where he played in the second half .
He was just being fair and giving em a chance, felt sorry for them
I think a Barnsley player may have shouted leave it.
It’s a huge if, but if TC starts adding goals to his game he is going to be a monster. Already so important to what we do. I’ll eat humble pie as I didn’t rate him at all before last season
Thought the best technical football on display was played by Barnsley for the first 25 mins, however we got ourselves a team that can play with or without the ball. We ground out the 3 points last night without playing exceptionally well, and defended superbly.
- Ref was shocking - We actually had the better chances, Leaburn and Coventry forcing saves, Berry missing a sitter. - Berry frustrates me. Too lightweight and caught in possession last night. Gilbert needs a start. - Edwards motm, followed by Jones and Ramsay - Crowd was good
Part of our recent success is we smother the opposition. It happened again tonight, Barnsley couldn’t string anything together in the second half, they always had a Charlton player nipping at their ankles. Most of the danger came from their long throws. If we were more clinical we would’ve cruised it.
Absolutely. Barnsley were playing around us a lot in the first half, lots of really neat passes but they didn't get far and eventually they just couldn't get anything going. It's funny how a month ago Gillesphey lining up for a free kick was laughable but yesterday I did think he might take it. Didn't expect it to go in but amazing how important he has come!
We suffocated them in the second half. They have been on great form and needed a win and just couldn't create hardly anything in the second half. There are lots of different ways to win football matches and the more ways you can do it the better.
Another thing I noticed with Jones and Coventry that were moving towards our goal with a player on them and could have passed back. They took the safe option and to me it shows coaching and mitigated a risk we didn't need to take.
Fair play to Gillesphey. Not just turning his performances around and cutting out mistakes, but now moving up to being our 4th top scorer in league this season

Suprised at Edwards MOM, thought he had such a poor first half. Recovered well second half to be fair
Think these wins are papering over some poor performances by Berry. He didn't offer much and wasted another two good chances yesterday. Why can't someone who played prem football last season connect properly with the ball?

But he can knock it into an empty net from 17 yards, showing the sort of class our other players simply don't have

I really thought Gilbert on Saturday earned the right to a starting slot last night with Berry replacing him for the last 20 . But then, we've all been saying that results are what matter when evaluating NJ, and here we are. Top of the form league.
I thought Berry, Campbell, Small, Godden & Edwards all looked very leggy last night which is hardly surprising given the amount of minutes they have all had. Wouldn't mind seeing a few changes Saturday, especially with another Tuesday game next week.

Puma manufacture the match balls for EFL games obviously 🙄
Win them both 2-0 and we go third.
(If Wrexham lose their 2...) 😀
