I think Godden has shown NJ why he should start with him instead of Leaburn23

Hard to moan because the key thing is to just keep on winning and we did that. First half (and most of the second) was as one sided a stroll as we’ve seen for ages. However, although our goal difference is steadily improving (cos we keep on winning), we really should have given Wigan a pasting today. We utterly dominated but only really had half a dozen decent chances. Our end product is poor. TC and Small have given us great width and transformed how we play. There is still a bit of hoofball but it’s league 1! However, both the above would not recognise a decent cross in a chapel. I just have this nagging fear that we’re going to come from nowhere to miss out on automatics on goal difference and it will be our own fault for being shyte until December and then not delivering a couple of pastings when we really should have. All of that said when I managed to get back to the Valley in late October for the Wigan match, what I saw depressed me and I’d have given my right leg to be where we are now (see what I did there). I just hope we don’t fall short because we don’t capitalise on our dominance. Just keep on winning……
And how nice to have a decent ref for a change!3 -
I think the players and Nathan want automatic promotion, the play offs are at present not an acceptable runner up prize. Playoffs are a lottery, look at Leeds last season running away with it, then they lose 4 out of the last 6 and end up losing the final....this year thevsame thing is possible again so... we should just leave everything out on the pitch and go for it. I'd rather that than just finish in 3rd to 6th and seem grateful.

But I dont want to detail this thread with negativity so I'll leave it to others to bask in another win.The type that sucks the atmosphere out of a room. It’s almost impressive
Herminator, have you noticed that his posts have now bereft of any mention of Alfie May, the player who is now being out-scored by his replacement. Golfie must sit there, desperate to find the negative, he spent most of the first 15 games declaring he undeniably right, he should know better, Football can be a fickle mistress.7 -
Comfortable for the majority of that. A bit of complacency crept in I think. Another win. Coventry avoided a yellow and didn't seem to be any injuries. Godden is so effective. On to Peterborough. UTA.1

He's never there by all accounts1 -
Nervy finish but great overall performance apart from the finishing.
Connor Coventry continues to be an absolute necessity for this team. He's unreal.
Dread to think how decimated this squad will be if we don't go up!3 -

Dominant performance but we need to be far more ruthless and really kill teams off.2
-
Can we leave the boring bashing of one poster aside.
Great, comfortable win, even if nervous for the final few minutes. Onto Peterborough. Shame Wrexham won but we have a nice gap to 7th and 8th now and still an outside chance of top2, which after our run before Xmas is amazing.

Was there today, as always - that was the most commanding performance I have seen from a Charlton side for a long, long time - Wigan were very poor, but we made them look even poorer - should have been 4-0 poss more to us
I’m not fussed about the end - they got a lucky break, and too many of our players were out of position at the time - hey ho, we were going for a 3rd goal to kill them off - it’s football
What is most important was this - last few seasons we would have probably melted, and it would have been 2-2 - but not this side - professional and got the 3 points after the Wigan goal
Call out for Berry and Coventry today - I thought they were superb
Onwards we go - isn’t it a lovely time at the moment to be an Addick 😃18 -

Thought Watson generally played well given he hasnt had many minutes.Shame we missed the chance at the start of the first half, the second shot could have gone in anywhere off the floor.Wasnt a fan of the single sub, felt we could have done with our reserve press on at the same time.2

Posh scrape past Cambridge 1-0, goal scored by Tayo Edun. Shame he won't get a chance to add another against his old club, as he was given a red card in stoppage time.8

Still... good news about the win lads8

Should have been out of sight, and Wigan were awful. The misses on 46 mins for 3-0 set the tone for the second half, we passed up a great chance to get our GD up to that of Wrexham. Grateful to get to full time in the end. But ultimately 3 points is the main thing, and now a week to recharge. Great to see a noticeably bigger crowd.2

Oh Golfie, nobody is biting on that one, you put up your usual 'we don't score enough goals' post and see who takes the bait, you love it, it's your Raison D'etre. Can I just point out though, i will see your point that we don't score enough goals and raise you on the fact that if we had kept Alfie May we would have score two goals less, fact !4 -
Oh is the tiresome troll still at it?Good win, great for 87, panic for 7, on to Peterborough5
