Played in the first Charlton game I saw. RIP.
  • RIP Mike.

Didn't see him first time around but when he returned will always remember his two goals in the great and totally unexpected 4-1 away win at QPR. Ray Treacy with the other two.

    RIP Mike.
He likely played in my first Charlton game as well.
He was certainly in the first team I recall.

Good player. The forward line of Kenning, Matthews, Firmani, Edwards, Glover is one of my earliest memories of supporting Charlton.

Mike Kenning on the right. Lennie Glover on the left. I think that was how it was anyway.
What a pair they were! RIP Mike.
  • Remember him well think I only saw him play in his second spell along with Keith Peacock Lennie Glover and Harry Gregory thought the wingers we had in my youth were great. RIP Mike

Mike Kenning direct right winger good player.  Particularly remember a goal he scored from the left wing against QPR at Loftus road, it flew in to the top corner.  Never sure if it was meant as a cross or shot but looked a great goal. We were bottom of the League at the time and won 1-4.

Liked him as a player, such a shame to hear of his passing.

    RIP Mike.

Saw him on his home debut……he was quite a slight fella but my god what a shot he had…..could hit the ball like a cannonball.
Always happy to see his name on the team sheet  (metaphorically that is), as we had the best forward line I have seen for several seasons (with a few changes of personnel from time to time), even though we weren’t in the first division.
Great player and a fans favourite.
    RIP…...Mike…..RIP.

Terrific right sided attacking player with real pace and a ferocious shot. With Glover on the left and both feeding off the unique talent of Eddie Firmani there were genuinely days we were unplayable toward the top of the Championship. A lasting memory was standing behind the goal in the old Covered End in the 5-2 trouncing of Cardiff. Glover, Matthews, Firmani had all scored and I was perfectly in line as Mike rifled in the 5th and the ball ripped into the roof of the net from the edge of the box after another perfect lay off from Firmani.

Thanks for the memories Mike. Rest in peace.

Rip a favourite of mine, back in the day.
  • With Kenning and Glover on the wings and Firmani in the middle. Wow.
Mike Kenning was extremely fast and had a thunderous shot.
    RIP Mike

RIP Mike, remember you well. I was at QPR that day, ending over a year without an away win.
