MATCH THREAD : Peterborough Utd V Charlton Athletic : Saturday 22nd March 2025 : KO 15:00

Welcome to another Match Thread, today we make the trip up to Cambridgeshire for what will no doubt be a very tricky and tight encounter with Peterborough United at the Weston Homes Stadium, a match that I feel we will do well in and travel back home with three points added to the total, this will be viewed by some as "Rose Tinted", but hey, my opinion....
Peterborough currently sit three places above the drop zone but have been doing fine lately unbeaten in the last seven games, but we too can boast a similar record, they do seem to have an ok record against us, so I do expect it will be very close come 5pm
We've met on 30 previous occasions, winning 10, Posh 12 and the remaining eight encounters resulting in draws., Maca headed home a late winner in the reverse fixture at The Valley last month.
Nathan says "There is a real possibility that [Josh Edwards] could feature this weekend", which will come as good news no doubt to everyone, but we will still be without AMB, and Kanu who sustained an ankle knock in Tuesday's U21 match, apart for that all seems to look good selection wise.
The Addicks will be wearing their yellow away kit today
Here we go
Team news...
Nathan Jones has named an unchanged starting XI for this afternoon’s Sky Bet League One clash against Peterborough United.
New signing Dean Bouzanis is named amongst the substitutes bench along with the returning Alex Gilbert and Chuks Aneke, with Miles Leaburn missing out with a quad injury.
Kayne Ramsay, Lloyd Jones and Macaulay Gillesphey once again start in a back three in front of Will Mannion.
Watson and Thierry Small are likely to operate as wing-backs with Conor Coventry, Luke Berry and captain Greg Docherty making up the midfield trio.
Matty Godden, who bagged a brace during last weekend’s win at home to Wigan Athletic, and Tyreece Campbell start up front.
Bouzanis, Gilbert and Aneke are joined on the bench by Tom McIntyre, Karoy Anderson, Kai Enslin and Gassan Ahadme.
Charlton: Mannion; Ramsay, Jones, Gillesphey; Watson, Coventry, Berry, Docherty (c), Small; Godden, Campbell
Subs: Bouzanis, McIntyre, Anderson, Gilbert, Enslin, Ahadme, Aneke

Please let this be size rather than quality, and Aneke has a pulled muscle.

On our way, on our way,
To Peterborough, we're on our way,
But only at Finsbury Park as my boys hockey coach made us late.
Doh.
UTA. 3-0 Charlton.

I'm now wondering Mannion, seeing that we've just got a Goalkeeper in.
Edit: Its not him, as he's there on twitter photos, as are Campbell and McIntyre...
Wonder if the latter is in for Jones0 -

No Kanu or Leaburn.......and a real rookie as sub GK.
I did warn you. Get to Wembley & the Hylton/Ahadme partnership is on 😆.
Edit. Just read pp and seen that sub keeper was signed during the week rather than being someone drafted in from the U15 😂. But still have no idea who he is3 -

Hope Leaburn is back very soon. Not good with him and Kanu out. Ahadme off the bench, good gawd, let's hope we aren't needing a goal late on.1
