  • Whole match plus here, courtesy of Huddersfield Town.  Some right proper dour commentary too.

I thought their commentary was pretty fair tbh.
Proper ‘Grim oop North’ accents 😂, but they were honest and insightful.
  • Makes me emotional when I see footballers dying for the shirt. They ain’t fans, but seeing them perform like a fan would when given the chance to play for their club fills me with pride.

Thing that stuck with me yesterday was at 4-0 up Huddersfield had a shot from 30 yards, and the geezer caught it sweet, Docherty put his face on it.

Just little things like that make me believe we have something special going on.
Mate, thank you. You have summed things up perfectly. I just feel so very happy. We have a team to be proud of.

that block was amazing. Reminded me at the time that we are valuing clean sheets and rightly so.

Also, with around 10 minutes or so to go and winning 4-0 there was a missed pass by one of ours that lead to their left winger being clear to get a cross in - Jones was screaming in rage! That's passion and it transfers to the team.

  • Nearly full payback for the 5-0 humiliation we had at their place some 8/9 years ago (same week we got hammered 6-0 at Hull)
  • Say his name and he appears

    I believe in Matt Godden.

What a game and such great spirit within the team at the moment.
They were always similar but Svensson’s morph into Chandler is complete.
Pringle's sorted his barnet out, TC is becoming a seriously good player and svensson has gone beyond chandler and is now de caprio in the wolf of wall street when he's spangled and crashes his car etc - the team were fantastic yesterday - we looked the real deal and we are going up - COYR !!!!

At least Huddersfield’s unbeaten run remains intact  ;)

Charlton fans love to take the piss out of that unbeaten run but 43 league games without losing from Jan 1st to the 28th November 2011 wasn't too shabby in my book under Lee Clark. It took an excellent team to beat them 👏🏼🥳💪🏻
  • Great performance all round, assisted by a useless Huddersfield.
I think there’s on person forgotten in the performance though.
The referee had a great game today and really kept it flowing .
    Made such a difference.

The ref did have a good performance...........................

Except missing the stonewall penalty on Dixon.
True, one big miss in a match is annoying but overall I’d say the ref made a great contribution by his lack of intervention.
plenty of tackles and contact that some referees would have blown for every time.
    Overall a complete team performance.

Indeed. I never ever give marks to the ref on the player rating thread but I did yesterday. And gave him a 10. Let the game flow & only blew if there was an actual foul rather than 2 players tackling for the ball.

  • Was reflecting watching yesterday's game on the huddersfield stream...... thanks for posting RaithC..... they've got a fair few players out injured or just coming back........ we're doing so well now, at this stage of the season, keeping our lot available and in getting most of them back in contention if they're out for a bit.
We seem to have the best overall bunch of people in and around our playing side........ all round they're better than I can remember for many a year. Given our budget I'd say we're punching or more than punching our weight now.
  • I'll say something I couldn't have said earlier in the season. I think overall. this team/squad is better than our 2019 one. Whether that equates to promotion is a different matter but we have to have a great chance.
That might be pushing it, but I will agree that if our best 2019 team played our current best team it’d result in a hell of a match.

For me, the blended match day 18 would look like this (in a 532 like we currently play):

    Phillips

    Small Bielik Jones Sarr Edwards

    Coventry Aribo Cullen

    Taylor TC

    Subs:
    Mannion
    Ramsay
    Bauer
    Doc
    Berry
    Leaburn
    Godden

For me, still more of the 2019 team would start but you could switch a lot if them around without significantly weakening the starting XI. I left out KAG as he wasn’t with us all season but he could possibly replace Leaburn on the bench. One thing you might say about our current team is it is better drilled (the 2019 team wasn’t poor in this, just we currently look as organised and at one with our system as I can remember us ever looking, even including the Curbs years) and that makes the current team more than the sum of its parts, whereas Bowyers success was built a bit more on the pure talent in the team.

  • Nearly full payback for the 5-0 humiliation we had at their place some 8/9 years ago (same week we got hammered 6-0 at Hull)
But full payback for the 4-0 at theirs in 2020
  • Really hoping the Terriers scrape into the play offs and we get to play them again.
Slim chance I know. They're surely the weakest of the P/O contenders

    Our home form in 2025

    DWWWWWWWW

    Our away form in 2025

    LWDLWDWL

Hopefully the pattern suggests a win at Mansfield in midweek (WDWL..W?) and not a draw (DLWDWL..D?)
  • The away form is not terrible but I feel it is something we could improve on given the qualities of the side.
Wrexham and Wycombe will be big challenges to that, whilst Cambridge and Mansfield are banana skins. 8 points from those will be good. All winnable but would be tough.
