I love all this carping about match times & cant get back home....blah blah blah.

Go by car or by Valley Express. Thats what I'd be doing. But I wont be able to get a ticket seeing as I've only got 175 points.

So, stop moaning. Otherwise don't take up your allocation & let some other bugger go who doesn't mind that it's on at 5.30 and will drive it go by coach.

Why have you only got 175 points?

Go more away games and then you can start calling out people that actually do go.

Can you get Skysports in a New York sports bar? I think it will be around 12.30pm, perfect whilst I’m visiting to watch with a drink or two…

Yes, loads of bars. There's one called Murphy's Irish Bar which is near Times Sq (not an ideal location) that would defo put it on for you.

I don’t think he even attends many home games, let alone away - so his ‘contributions’ on here are lame in the extreme !!!

Utter disrespect for Charlton fans, who are having to travel a bloody long way for this match - but why am I not surprised 🤷

Anyway, I’m nailed on for tickets as I have enough points and Valley Gold - we booked an AirB&B ages ago, so sorted anyway - however can’t change our train up, which is 8.30am on the day - gonna have to pace ourselves on the beer 😳
I haven't booked anything, but had assumed it would be a 12:30 game in which case I would have booked Friday night hotel, which would have been useless now!

That was my initial assumption - I went as far as reserving a hotel in Shrewsbury on the Friday night just in case, thankfully it was cancellable! It did slowly dawn on me that the EFL might want to chase the US TV dollar and move us to the evening...

I'm not calling out those that go. I'm calling out those moaning that there are no trains home.....as if that is the only mode of transport in 2025.

And I'm not moaning the fact thay I've only got 175 points. I'm resigned to that fact I wont get a ticket. Just pissed off with those moaning about how it's unfair for it to be at 5.30pm. They are also the people who would be moaning if it was on at 12.30....or 19.45 on a Thursday night.

It seems we have a section of supporters that only want a kick off at 3pm on a Saturday so they can get a train and get into a pub before hand.

Love it if we go above them with a win there

Says the man who didn't want to attend a televised Sunday HOME game as he wouldn't be able to have Sunday Lunch/Roast. Hypocrisy rules ok!

Sorry, didnt realise I had to be a season ticket holder to contribute to this forum.

Not that it matters that I went to Selhurst when many boycotted. Or had a season ticket from 1992 to 2022. Or went to every game, home & away, in our first season in League One in 2009. Or went to all 3 play off finals.

Main reasons why I dont currently have a season ticket at the moment are -

    • Eye surgery over the last few years has made driving difficult at night, thus ruling out evening games. Also the floodlights make watching difficult too.

    • My son, who I took when he was 5 & had a season ticket from then until 2022 now works at the club on matchdays. Means I have to now go on my own & sit on my own (good thing many would say).

    • Last year's awful performances put me off watching crap football under useless managers.

But feel free to keep abusing me like you always do.

Higher emissions by car. Train much better. And get a drink and chance of some local culture or a wetherspoons. Coach second best.

How about do what you want to do.
If you want to have a moan up, have one.
I've done 1 game this season.
I'd rather pull my teeth out with pliers than get the club coach.
You can stick the kick off times.
Was never about only going when we was on a good roll , for me.

I don’t know the area at all, so don’t know traffic around the ground but does anyone think the 20:44 train from Crewe to London is achievable in a taxi, if left on the final whistle. 29
miles. 55 mins on Google Maps
100% doable. If you don’t make it, take legal action against the cab driver.

I'm boycotting this one in protest at the half and half scarf I got bought for Christmas 🥩
I mean feel free to go and watch a load of Welsh w⚓️s celebrate promotion , it’s not for me .
petrol head is gonna go and take little shit with him on the coach I think . Mrs running the Marathon next day  so is unavailable for taxi services .

I’m at a 50th that night in reality , otherwise I’d be dragged up there kicking and screaming and fuming , wipe your feet on the way out .

Yep - he is correct - I do abuse him, because his negativity on pretty much anything, is quite frankly off the scale - I do honestly believe that if Charlton Athletic won the Champions League, he would still find something to moan about !!!

Not surprised they've moved it, but what a shite time to move it to!!

Especially as the other 12:30pm games would be much better suited to that later time (e.g. Orient vs Wycombe / Doncaster vs Bradford etc.), and ours being the midday KO

Imagine its because we're on Sky Sports Football, rather than Sky Sports +

Bet they're doing it with the anticipation of Wrexham getting promotion, and havent realised how close we are
Pretty sure that's exactly why they're doing it. If Wrexham were 14th it definitely wouldn't be on at 5.30.

My only real surprise was that Sky were not showing Leeds, but i just looked and their game that weekend has been moved to the live Monday night game.

Always the way when games are moved. It'll inconvenience some people and be good news for others.

It could've been worse though, as it could've been moved to a Friday or Monday night which would've been much worse than a Saturday evening (in my opinion).

would be nice if they took into account the travelling supporters, whoever they are - with a few exceptions for course! Especially somewhere like Wrexham

millions? Millions who wouldn't watch it at a different time? Have Wrexham had many 5.30pm televised matches

Well yes in this instance as the away team  it is.

It’s a big game (we still hope) and does open it up to more of us. Sad but true.

Sky (or any tv company) haven't ever cared about actual match going fans.

Look at Leeds for example, now the tv games are out it means by the end of the season just 3 of their last 22 matches will have been a 3pm Saturday kick off.
