£750k severance pay! Please tell me not a penny of that went to Southall0
-
Bloody hell, just seen the ‘executive pay’ 🙈
I guess confirmation of what most of us suspected16 -
He already recieved a large amount from TS when he overpaid for the club back in 2020.AFKABartram said:£750k severance pay! Please tell me not a penny of that went to Southall
This severance pay will be for the 2 managers and coaches this SMT employed then sacked9 -
Would that not have been Holden and Appleton plus their coaches?AFKABartram said:£750k severance pay! Please tell me not a penny of that went to Southall5 -
Total losses £75m

Exec pay £1.9m!!!
Even split between four or maybe five exec directors that seems huge for a league 1 club.35 -
So in summary, in this groups first year of operating turnover was down and annual losses rose £9.5m to £13.9m
Excellent work Charlie & co. Strange how none of the PowerPoint slides ever suggested that.13 -
The sacking of Apppleton, I would say.AFKABartram said:£750k severance pay! Please tell me not a penny of that went to Southall3 -
This is a real concern. Methven and co are just as bad as Southall and co. Hands in the troth and no accountability. Parasites8

And possibly Holden tooguinnessaddick said:

Hence why the January transfer window was all about "slimming" down the squad.AFKABartram said:So in summary, in this groups first year of operating turnover was down and annual losses rose £9.5m to £13.9m

Next will be player sales in the summer.

Imagine how bad the financial results would have been, if someone from the North East was running the club.
What do say Charlie boy?1 -
No surprise Charlie Boy has departed then, wonder if anyone will be along to support him now.3
-
£1.9m on signings feels steep. Assuming there's some big signing on fees wrapped in there?3
-
Player sales to help the club survive have to happen time to time, there aren’t many clubs where that’s not the case. The key is to get good value and use some of it to bring in new players and repeat the cycle. I’ve got more faith in our recruitment to do that well than in recent seasons.golfaddick said:

Next will be player sales in the summer. The positive thing is we have most of the squad under contract and didn’t sell anyone in January at the first sign of a decent offer.
If and when we sell an important player or two I’m hopeful it’ll be for bigger fees than we’ve seen for a while. Time will tell on that.
On slimming the squad, even if we pick up more injuries, the likes of Edun, Allan Campbell and REG would never have saved our season. I don’t think making room for u21s like Dixon, Enslin and Zach Mitchell (next season) was a bad choice.7 -
The 71.5m of losses are over how long a time period?0
-
I am surprised why anybody is shocked
There is no way Methven would have been involved without a massive salary attached.
Lost MORE than previous years.
I mean those who questioned their financial plans as very difficult to achieve can see in black and white their total mismanagement.
Nothing Charlton surprises me.9 -
Would the revenue in 23-24 dropping 10% be largely down to us having the cup run and game at Old Trafford in 22-23?2

Yes I know, but the books have to be balanced somewhere along the line. You dont just write off a growing debt just because you've gone into a new fiscal year. Just ask Rachel.Reeves 😀.Henry Irving said:

Whether you like or dislike Methven (clearly most dislike him), i think it's pretty harsh to say he's as bad as Southall. Methven i still believe had some good intentions, but Southall is just a scumbag.bolloxbolder said:This is a real concern. Methven and co are just as bad as Southall and co. In interested to know what everyone was expecting? This is pretty normal and relies on us going up in the next few years5

you have to invest to get out of the league which is what they’ve done on and off the pitch. If they hadn’t we’d all be complaining it was the same old same old.
now they have done it’s now management?1 -

I didnt think our ‘executives’ in the 3rd tier would be trousering £2m a year, and that’s before expenses, consultancies etcTheHerminator said:In interested to know what everyone was expecting? This is pretty normal and relies on us going up in the next few years25 -
They don’t have to be if there was an agreement up front to invest in promotion.golfaddick said:

Wasn’t the plan to reduce the annual losses by about 75%, not to increase them?
Also the only noticeable investment/growth is in executive salaries, funny that…15 -
Just under 2 million and 80 per cent rise in executive pay is shocking. Since Gavin Carter was appointed as non executive chairman in November we have seen the back of 2 of those so fingers crossed that figure drops considerably when the next set of accounts come out in 12 months time
