  • OK I know I'm nudging that way in my dotage, but I'm fed up with being targeted by this company.

They sent me an invitation to join their scheme on my last birthday and now it seems I've been invited to a spring barbecue.  Well you know what?  I ain't ready and I ain't going ... hopefully  :|

Treat yourself on us? I mean what is the offer? 'Use our efficient heating mechanism to warm your slippers'?

Barbecue? Someone in their marketing department has a sense of humour.

Sorry, I was being a bit facetious there - I didn't open the envelope - just twinned their offer with the cremation.

Rio (Foghorn) Ferdinand using 'wow' and 'ridiculous' for every good incident in the PSG/Villa game.

You may regret the decision. I am with them and bought their scheme for my wife and myself about three years ago and the cost (although still good compared to normal cremations or burials) have gone up a couple of hundred pounds.
You may not want to think about it, but it is going to happen and bought now will save your family money and worry later.
No, I do not have any financial interest in the company 😊

Music playing in the 'background' of almost everything on tv these days. It's so unnecessary and pointless.

Would like a button on the remote that would stop the music and allow the talking.

ITV X has a message saying 'sit back and relax.' This message annoys me as experience tells me that there is a better than 50% chance that my chosen programme won't appear smoothly and I'll have to fanny around to watch it.

I would not mind if it was background music, but sometimes it is louder than the voices of the people speaking

It often is louder than the speakers, it drives me mad. Almost every documentary and programmes like Countryfile, Antiques Roadshow and Escape to the Country, all have necessary music. I say music, but it is often just a continuous plonking on a piano.

Same thing now with a lot of sports. Rugby World Cup the other year, break in play then loud music blasting away.

IPL is noise when a break in play. Tennis seem to do it. Thought I'd watch some baseball the other night and again on comes the loud music between plays.

    Just makes things unwatchable.

Do they think it creates an atmosphere? What's wrong with just crowd noise?

My mate’s out in Bahrain and his BIL is involved with the F1 hospitality. My mate couldn’t be less interested in F1 if he tried but has tickets for today and qualifying tomorrow. Keeps sending me photos and videos of his day.

I don’t know. They can be quite fun.

People using underestimate in the complete opposite way than they intend. As in ' You can't underestimate how much of a contribution Rice makes to this Arsenal team'.
The converse is true of overestimate.

What’s a pair of trainers got to go with a lack of grammatical understanding ? 😆

The BBC trailer for next weekend's FA cup semi finals includes a couple of seconds of Pardew's nauseating squirmy Wembley dance. I was unprepared and a little bit of sick came up.
I hope they get battered next week.
