Micah Mbick - called up to the England U20s (p7)
Mbick, who joined the club’s esteemed academy as an U10, recently scored just three minutes into his senior debut, completing the scoring in the Addicks’ 6-1 win at Cray Valley PM in the Emirates FA Cup.
The 17-year-old forward has netted 12 goals in 13 games for Charlton’s U18s and U21s so far this season.

Good news. Appleton clearly rates him, the way he's come out of nowhere into first team contention.
Bit silly that the article doesn't give the contract length though.1 -

Always annoys me when they don't give contract lengths , it's a pretty easy thing to do.0 -
Great stuff !
Wishing Micah a long, successful career at our club.0 -
Good news, looks a talent0
-
Thats a relief - Always worries me a little these days when we give First Team appearances to kids not under Contract.
Notice that Apples is with him in the Contract signing photo, where is Steve Avory?0 -
Nice one. Looks decent. Given our best young attacking players have always left before signing (Defoe, Palmer and others) then to have Leaburn, Kanu, Casey and M'bick all sign is pretty impressive. 4 young forward prospects, would hope at least 2 really kick on.0
-
Just when young slobodan thought he was in the clear as our main forward, Kanu gets recalled and now this.

Should surge us into an automatic promotion spot!0

Just turned 17 a month or so ago.
If he is going to continue growing physically he is going to be quite a presence.
However there is a huge amount of development to come, I hope it goes brilliantly.1 -

One of the deepest voices I’ve ever heard from a 17 year old3

Deserves his own thread bumped after yesterday. For a player his age, to be out injured as much as he has this season, for a manager to believe in him for the first team at this stage in the season.17
-
With his build, mobility and touch he will be an apt replacement for Aneke, hopefully his injury problems are behind him though.4
-
He's definitely got a similar vibe, a big lad whose not afraid to mix it up but with very decent skills/technique besides.cfgs said:With his build, mobility and touch he will be an apt replacement for Aneke, hopefully his injury problems are behind him though.
Don't want to get too carried away on (part of) one game but NJ is clearly very impressed which is a good sign.9 -
Great to see him come on yesterday and help us win the game. A nice surprise after a few months out injured and Dixon appearing to be the striker next in line.
Be patient with him though. In the u21 streams I saw earlier this season his touch, hold up play and composure in front could be inconsistent. As we’ve seen with Leaburn a young powerful striker can look unstoppable in one game and struggle in the next.
The potential is there and in NJ and the coaches we have the set up to help him develop and know when to involve him in the first team.
Looking forward to seeing more of him, wouldn’t surprise me if there’s a few more first team appearances to come this season.22 -
“Mbick (Charlton Song)”
(To the tune of “MMMBop by Hanson”)
[Verse]
Down at The Valley, we stand proud
Red and white, we sing out loud
From Jimmy Seed to modern day
The Addicks fight, come what may
[Chorus]
Mbick, ba duba dop
Ba du bop, ba duba dop
Ba du bop, ba duba dop
Ba du
Mbick, come rain or sun
We won’t stop ’til the match is won
Charlton’s heart will carry on
That’s true
[Chorus – Repeat]
Mbick, ba duba dop
Ba du bop, ba duba dop
Ba du bop, ba duba dop
Ba du
Mbick, come rain or sun
We won’t stop ’til the match is won
Charlton’s heart will carry on
That’s true

Great credit to the lad (and also Charlton's medical and conditioning teams) for being fit enough to play for the first team after his long injury layoff.0
-
He looks like an absolute unit - I wonder if like Leaburn it will lead to him picking up niggles and strains?0
-
Earlier this season at a game at Dartford towards the end he was near to me at the side of the pitch. I said ‘You’ve played well Micah’ to which he gave me a subtle thumbs up.
If he goes on to have a good career it’ll be all down to me.8 -

He pulled a high ball down yesterday with a lovely touch and tricked a defender or two….. great technique. Small cameo but didn’t look out of place at all…… looking forward to seeing more of him15

to the tune of when the saints go marching in
oh, Micah Mbick, he’s our centre forward
he’s gonna score, win it for Charlton
with the ball at his feet, defenders can’t compete
Micah Mbick, he’s king of the beat
oh, Micah Mbick, he’s our man
he’s the one who leads us to the promised land
he’ll put the ball in the back of the net
Micah Mbick, charltons finest yet
Probably best if we rip of another generic chant being sung by 50 other clubs1 -
