What a goal from Murphy, who is currently playing like a Ballon D'or contender!
Newcastle lead Palace 1-0.3 -
Murphy with his 9th goal from a ridiculous angle and with 10 assists the orthodox right footed, right winger is having a cracking season.
Hopefully Newcastle win to be another team to finish above Chelsea.1 -
What a wanky penalty, thankfully it was palace0
-
I'm afraid that's a horrible error from Pope. What was he doing out there? But then he makes well and truly up for it by saving the penalty.0
-
Ha ha ha ha ha ha1
-
There's something quite old school about Newcastle, a right footed winger on the right, with a proper No 9 leading the line, when so many teams have inverted wingers on the right more interested in cutting in and shooting with their left foot.1

There's nothing better than seeing Palace losing. And missing a penalty. And scoring an OG. These things happen in threes.......3
-
Suspensions for the FA Cup semi final would be good.5

Pleased for Barnes. He's been very much an understudy but, following Gordon's suspension, Newcastle have rightly stood by the man in form.0
-
And that's why!!!Addick Addict said:Pleased for Barnes. He's been very much an understudy but, following Gordon's suspension, Newcastle have rightly stood by the man in form.0 -

Did I say three? I meant six. Hopefully.Addick Addict said:There's nothing better than seeing Palace losing. And missing a penalty. And scoring an OG. These things happen in threes.......0 -
4-0. Might have to revise that six. Another assist by Murphy.Addick Addict said:

Newcastle have now scored 11 in 2.5 games and Isak hasn't got any of them.2

Have that you stripey c***s9

And Palace have conceded 9 in 1.5 gamesChris_from_Sidcup said:Newcastle have now scored 11 in 2.5 games and Isak hasn't got any of them.1 -
So how does this xG thing work then? Currently Newcastle (scoring for fun) is .68, Palarse (can’t hit a cow’s arse with a banjo) 1.48? I assumed the higher the number the more likely you were to score?0
-
xG measures the likelihood of a shot becoming a goal. The Murphy one for example has an xG of 0.01. Palace have had a few shots from central positions in the penalty box which will have a much higher xG. The fact Palace can’t score them just shows that their finishing is poorAlgarveaddick said:So how does this xG thing work then? Oh dear, what a shame, never mind.2

Five goals went past Dean…1

So it’s only about the last shot they had then? Regardless of whether it goes in or not?fenaddick said:

It’s an accumulation of each shot added together. The use of it is to see a) if teams are creating big chances and b) how a players finishing compares to the averageAlgarveaddick said:

All sounds a bit emperor’s new clothes to me, but thank you for the explanation Fenaddick.fenaddick said:

Palace missed a penalty so the xG will have been high for that.Algarveaddick said:So how does this xG thing work then? Currently Newcastle (scoring for fun) is .68, Palarse (can’t hit a cow’s arse with a banjo) 1.48? I assumed the higher the number the more likely you were to score?
Newcastle also scored an own goal (so not even a shot), a header from a deep cross, a Murphy wonder strike from out wide and Isak's goal was from 20 yards out. So that's 4 goals and the xG for all of those will be quite small.0 -
That's rather a splendid wind up by the Newcastle DJ playing "Glad All Over" at the final whistle!14

This is emphasised by Liverpool paying £20 mill even though they only signed one player.Chris_from_Sidcup said:
Agreed, i've never understood how it just became widely accepted that clubs pay the agents. Agents work for the player to get the best deal for the player, therefore the player should pay them. This nonsense like Haaland's Dad demanding a payment of millions from City so he'd sign for them is crazy.MrOneLung said:This is utter madness.
If all the big clubs got together and said that as of today we will no longer pay a penny to agents, then what? Players are going to suddenly refuse to sign for Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern, PSG, City, Chelsea, Man U etc because of no agents fee? I doubt it.0 -
Away the lads!
Nookie bear, Roger De Coursey, Bill Nighy, Feltham Sex Offenders Unit...
Your boys took a hell of a beating, AGAIN!5 -

Would be really funny if clubs started doing this everytime they lose when they are away from home.1 -
