Edwards crosses into their box from the left, but it's a bit too high for Ramsay and they send it back down our right. Jones clears for a throw by the dugouts.

    HT 1-1...
We need to regroup and suss out how to win this game, given a great start by Berry, then McIntyre cocks it up with a clear a hand ball penalty as they could wish for...

Really poor. Results going our way we need to find a way of getting 3 points.

Cannot understate how much of bottling this would be if we missed out on being 3 points off 2nd because of a home draw against this lot

Long way to go. No need to panic yet.

NJ will give them a rocket and the fans need to get behind them second half

Threads laced with it tbh. Soles gone from this forum and can't see it healing anytime soon

Pretty rubbish.  Usual lumping it forward to nobody.  Feeding off scraps.  Can't get TC or Small involved.  Defence under pressure but not sure what or why McIntyre handled for.

I think we'll give it to the hour mark then bring on the usual subs.

This is still winnable but won't be easy.

Relax everyone, we don’t score until the 93rd minute.  It’s our thing

Not really at it are we. Credit to Northampton though, they are battling and bullying us and we are making things easy for them. Need to improve massively this half. Would be typical Charlton for the other results to go our way and for us to fuck it up.

Northampton came today looking to be very physical, win second balls and get the ball high into the box whenever they can. We do tend to struggle against teams that play similarly to us as we've seen with Stockport so not massively surprised it's been a tough half. TC has been making the wrong decisions on the ball quite a lot and we could do with using Small more than him as he and Ramsay seem more comfortable against their opposite numbers. Coventry has also struggled to take control today but Berry has been popping up in some very clever positions and looks like he could be the key to getting us back in front. I'm sure Jones will be having a word at half time and demanding more aggression early on higher up the pitch. I expect us to come out more assertive than we started the game

Credit to Northampton they’ve played well and pinned us in. right up there with the stupidest and unnecessary hand ball I’ve seen.

All to play for 2nd half

Pretty dull half. Lots of headtennis. Was looking OK until a handball so blatant and stupid, I wouldn't be surprised if at sometime in the future we learn that it was part of a betting scam. That really knocked the wind out of our sails and killed the atmosphere. Got to up our game.

Disappointing performance so far, but Northampton are going a good job at pressing us.

Very frantic out there, with brief moments of football in between.

As poor a first half as we have served up against Lincoln. Can Northampton maintain that level of pressing? The performance of McIntrye makes having 3 strikers on the bench and no Mitchell all the more baffling.

I know this is tongue in cheek but given how much Northampton are careering around I would expect our fitness to help in the last 30 mins

McIntyre with a shaky first half there. Fills me with dread when he is on the ball now

Campbell is being tied down so Ramsey and Small need to get forward more on the right. Northampton are tiring in the middle but so is Berry. Need some more energy in the middle.

F**king McIntyre, it would have made more sense to have Drew McIntyre out there rather than that joke

NJ will, no doubt, let them know that his not 'happy', with that first half.
It's been N'hants half, we need to step up 2nd half and take control, 20000 in attendance we seem to have froze!
