    Good point. Well made.

    ...😉
  • Even the commentator thought the Ramsay yellow was ridiculous and he could not have been more clear that he was looking for a Northampton win all game
  • He has come good after deserved criticism earlier in the season. On that basis, I'm glad we have him at the moment, but he is a very difficult individual to warm to.
Yeah absolutely, definitely wouldn't want to anyone else here but find it very petty on such a day. He'll probably ly.mention it again if we get to Wembley and win 😆
  • The Valley struggles with 20k crowds now, maybe with 20k regulars (as in the PL days) it would be smoother, but now it feels really crowded.

There were massive queues for the Upper CE again, were enough turnstiles built for that section? The Curbs concourse is completely clogged up, while the number of ladies toilets is clearly not enough now.

He caught nearly everything all game and even would have struggled getting to the punch imo what next he should have scored a free kick from 30 yards out ? the defender messed up and gave away a pen instead of heading it.
He definitely should be in charge of that situation. It takes experience to have that in your game though, but something the coaches should be encouraging him and AMB to do.
  • Again. Wrexham could only draw against a very poor Bristol Rovers team. Stockport rescued a late point at Peterborough. It’s as if you expect teams like Northampton to roll over so we can tickle their tummies. We won. We got the job done. Our record over the last 25 games as pointed out above is exceptional. We are top of whatever form table you care to look at. Can’t you just enjoy the moment?
Most fawned over by the media obsessed with American luvvies?

  • Does anyone know what ship that is?
It’s one of the four Iowa class. 9x16” guns. HMS Nelson and Rodney had the same number and size of guns, Rodney needed a rebuild after firing broadsides at Bismarck, you fear for the ship and the target with guns like these.

Are they clogged up as well?

While my respect for his abilities and skills has certainly grown over the season and since the long awaited "clicking" I personally find it quite hard to like him on a purely personal level, nor would I want to work for someone like that - regardless of his success. It feel almost a little bit like a personality cult where everything is done exactly as he wants and that is that. Yes it does work but that's not a manager I'd want to work for.

Which quite rightly would not bother him one iota I'm sure even if he ever did read this message!

And do their doors not lock either…?

Ref only seemed to care about timewasting when it was Charlton doing it.
He must have warned their keeper 3-4 times in thefirst half. no card,Ramsay one offence,card.ridiculous.Still it was good to see their time wasting bite them on the arse.

Also I was pissed off that my usual parking area back of Charlton park was full so had to park miles away even though I was there at 1-15.

Chris, got to say there are two 'Golfies'. When he attends games you get a far more balanced opinion from him, he gets a lot of calls right and he may not be the most positive poster but the posts are measured. When he doesn't attend games, we get a complete load of bollocks, nothing that has any basis in fact. Quite simply Golfie, You need to get out more !
I have to assume you are on the waccy baccy for that first part. :D

Why would Stockport beat us when they have not in 2 league games? None of the teams in the current  playoff positions have beaten us this season by the way, even when we played them before our current great run. There is an iron in this team's soul, inspired by NJ. You may not get it Golfie, sad for you to be missing the joy.
We’ve also failed to beat Stockport and Wrexham this season. The way we beat orient twice will motivate them. They owe us a beating

Matt is he happier that way?

The players seem to enjoy working for Jones. We are on the outside looking in so can only speculate. Of course, this is a forum and speculate is what we do. I have to admit I speculated wrongly earlier in the season in relation to Jones and so am far more contrite now as a result. When he says I told you so, I say good for him. I appreciate he is telling me so although in some areas like May, I was not sure that Godden wasn't a better replacement and I saw Small as a key player before he was being played.

We shouldn't be too down on ourselves for being critical earlier in that there was lots of evidence that things were not working but I see it now as Jones having total faith in his ability and indeed his players and not being afraid to make mistakes to find that winning formula.
  • Stockport and Wrexham have also failed to beat us...
this is what I don’t get about some Charlton fans worrying about having to play these teams. Whilst games against these teams have been a battle and not been pretty it actually takes two sides to get stuck into those types of games and give as good as they get, which is what happened. They will fear us more than we fear them because our form is better.
  • I think plenty of people questioned replacing “golden boot” Alfie with an ageing Godden.
Both could be considered aging Shooters, Alfie May is 32 in July and Matt Godden 34 in the same month. Normally, you might consider the older of the two to struggling with pace and sharpness in the box but Godden's goal return would suggest otherwise.

I probably did over cook the first part Major, but his post yesterday about us 'not being the in form team because we are not playing with swagger' would suggest that he is on something a lot stronger than waccy baccy !

It was around 1978/79 and I was, and still am, a close friend of the then guvnor of The Antigallican. I was driving his car (he was pissed!) back from an away dart match and a car stopped to give way to me around a parked car. He used a phrase that I still use to this very day:

"You can get the f*cking Rodney through there!"
