Great away end, more of the same for Wrexham hopefully

Great reflections of a great day @Braziliance, by the way, love the knuckle Duster...🙄
  • The passing in that first half was very poor from us. 2 goals up all well and good but there was a weakness there. Midfield was scrapping when they could but largely cut out in the pattern of play. Anderson passing game much better of late and helped with this second half I felt and i think the stats should bear it out.
  • Just listened to the Wycombe manager's post match interview. "Four soft goals"!?! Not a word about being completely whipped by a better side. Orient should fancy their chances against a team managed by Dodds the Deluded.

I do think the pitch contributed a bit to that, every time TC or Small tried to carry the ball forward it would bobble or get stuck in the pitch. Lots of players slipping on their arse during the game too.

Along with being 2nd for most clean sheets in league, we're also 2nd for most interceptions per game and most clearances per game.

Great job from Blackpool, making sure they intercepted the ball before it went in the bloody net yesterday then!! ;)

Interesting that Wrexham's last four games, comes against all four of those sides though

shocking decision by the ref considering the Wycombe kicked him first  ….. have to appeal it and how did their player get away
    scott free
That's confirmed it for me now the ref got it right and Aneke elbowed him twice in the face and then finished him off with an uppercut thanks Ronnie.
I say old chap, unless Ronnie is a mate, that did come across as rather twatish.
I say old chap up yours
  • I was part of the holy triumvirate of Charlton Life royalty where I sat, myself ,AFKA and Nicholas , 3 wise old stooges with their families jumping up and down in complete delirium, also thanks to Nicholas for moving around so little shit could see the game.
good day out but it’s never enough , we needed another goal to close the GD on Wycombe 🤪
my heart won’t be able to take the play offs please let us go up . I can’t stand any more league one guffness

saw Chuks waiting in car park and third choice keeper walking away from the ground after the game .

Good to see you mate and AFKA, tell your boy apologies if my fat head got in the way at all. Fingers crossed on getting out this pub league.

  • On my way home at Elephant and Castle station I saw a man with a Wrexham sweatshirt on, I said to him 'we are coming for you'. He sort of laughed at me. Told him I had been to Wycombe and he said he had been in Camden Town watching the Wrexham game with other Wrexham fans.

He said 'you got back from Wycombe quickly' don't think he believed I'd been at the game. He just kept telling me how rich their owners are. Said he had lived in Bromley 22 years, we got off the train at the same station.

Thankfully Norris slipped and Sniffer dog 🐕‍🦺collected another bone 🦴 which killed off Wycombe.

Is Curtis Fleming an unsung hero ?

He rarely gets a mention was not brought in by NJ but seems the cool calm influence on the bench?
Anyone notice NJ had no tape left on his fingers at the end. Wonder what he was like at the alter on his wedding day. Surprised he's got any hands left!!

As for the match. Such an accomplished performance. Not been so relaxed watching a game for some time. If these are second and in top form, we fear nobody. Ice runs through their veins right now..... The players that is, not NJ.

Not sure if already posted, but some very complimentary comments on the Wycombe forum about us. Just a sample:

"Yesterday we had our limitations fully exposed by a quality football team that were better than us in all aspects of the game. They showed us the standard we need to reach if we are to progress to, and survive in the Championship."

" I don’t think anything else can be said other than we lost to a team that set up very well against us. They were better than us in every aspect and their fans were magnificent. From the moment that Kone got smashed by Jones, you just knew how the game would pan out. They won absolutely everything. That’s what I meant when I said “I don’t think we played that badly”, I just think they were better, smarter, stronger, quicker, fitter and more clinical in every way. You don’t have to be “up against the ropes” to lose a match. We never were - yet we got knocked out by a tactical masterclass."

"Charlton by far and away the best team to come to AP. If we’re both in the play offs we have no hope.

6 points needed now. I really think Charlton beat Wrexham on Saturday, so 6 points would still do it. Tiny glimmer of hope."

"Charlton are going up automatically if they play that way again against Wrexham.

Wrexham aren’t that great as a team, but they do have some great players. Charlton are a fantastic team."

Maybe some of these should have a word with their deadbeat manager, and put him straight on a few things...

Got a mention in Lloyd Jones' post match interview yesterday, but was the first time I've heard him mentioned I think.

So chuffed for the whole squad after the performance, but felt particularly happy for Karoy. I was right near the celebrations for the second half goals and it looked like it meant so much to him when he bagged, and at full time. He has (sometimes rightly) copped a lot of stick for not being up to the level, but clearly sees himself as playing an important role in this squad - something I think Jones is particularly good at drumming into players.

Class day out, even though I dropped my burger on the floor.
Love a good post where you know you'll be clicking Like once you reach the end, and at last moment, it gets an LOL instead.
The bit about the burger choked me up. It takes a long time getting over that sort of trauma...

Did your onions hit the deck too, Robin?

Dropping your Burger was the healthy option 😀

Some people like to complain about 'hoofball'. But big factors in our success are, Jones's 40 yard headers out of defence, Edwards's 30 yard throws and Gillesphey's 70 yard lateral crosses. Between them they shift defence to attack very quickly.
Yes, agreed, and thought we struggled with this on Friday when Gillesphey was out, particularly in the first half

The whole shebang I'm afraid - buns, onions and meat/sawdust patty lying forlorn and sodden in the WW car park. 5 second rule out of the question with such a considerable audience. Felt almost as sad as Will Norris looked watching Godden tap his goal in.
The burger would have made a better job than Norris on that one...

I’m not sure Chuks even did anything to warrant a yellow. Absolutely bizarre but don’t see a head butting motion whatsoever. Don’t know how anyone can watch that video and say it’s a red card
Reading their forum he is commonly known as Diver Leahy. 🤨
