Eni Aluko v Ian Wright

  • Women’s football uses Wrighty because he’s entertaining and it helps get viewers.  Makes sense

mens football used Aluko because of box ticking.  She’s not insightful, gets far too much wrong and just s bit embarrassing.  She’s supposedly an intelligent woman and I have no doubt that Joey Barton’s spat with her has exacerbated the pile-on but she would be better served lying low for a while rather than picking fights left, right and centre
  • There are lots of women pundits in the mans game and I don't have a problem with it when they are good. It comes down to personal perception I suppose but I don't think Aluko is a good pundit. She calls things in a strange way for me. I recall an England women's international when the ball was going in and a forward stupidly took a needless touch and was offside and Aluko was praising her! I like Ian Wright as a pundit and I think he is more entertaining. He also has a genuine interest in the progression of the women's game.

What is needed and to be fair, what we get in the most part is the understanding that there is a meritocracy in terms of pundits which is how it should be. It is part of an entertainment industry and the most entertaining and knowledgable should get the jobs. There are lots of kowledgeable women pundits which is great but Ian Wright enhances the TV experience in the women's internationals so why should he step aside? He is a positive for the women's game IMO.
  • Watch this to the end - Either way, I think Aluko comes across as completely dishonest. If she’s telling the truth and this did actually happen, she manipulated her former employers — or the whole story didn’t happen in the first place and it's all a load of bollocks. She obviously has no filter -

Does she actually think she is good and insightful but not realise that many people don't she is? Or does she realise she is lucky to get the work and needs to keep the reasons for it going?

People dare criticise a woman, get accused of misogyny, shock horror
Even when said woman issues an apology !

She's uses phrases like 'it may have happened', 'it could've happened' and 'I don't know'.

Give us facts not suggestions as Natalie Sawyer stated.

And the next comment is from a woman criticising her 🤣

Not sure if this is aimed at me or Aluko. If it's me, my point weren't about Rice's transfer (although i do think what she is suggesting is complete gobbledegook), but what she claimed to have happened when she was involved in football transfers. The stories she came out with are either complete bs, or they did happen and she was involved in false bids, and manipulated / lied to her former employers.

  • I personally don’t care what gender pundits are my preference is for them to be insightful, knowledgeable and balanced. Unfortunately there are to many that are not any of those things and seem to think they have a god given right to do the job which they are just not very good at

Not having a go at you, it's just all her remarks are suggestive, give us facts that can be proven.

I’d happily ban Wright from women’s football if it meant Aluko isn’t on any men’s coverage
Racist fascist misogynistic far right homophonic transphobe.
Do you realise homophonic means sounds the same?
  • All women are Nazis. It’s true.

They all have Nazi Party membership cards sewn into the lining of their handbags.

There are reports of men with acutely honed peripheral vision having glimpsed woman goose stepping beyond the normal limits of the male gaze.

Tampons are small scrolled maps with important male institutions marked in lemon juice (e.g. beer isle at supermarket, tv remote controls, floors and walls around toilet bowls).

Tupperware Parties are not what they seem. They’re actually Nazi Party invasion committees (although excellent plastic products do get exchanged - the lettuce container, wow!).

    Stay safe, men.

Who told you all these secrets?

Changed that back from predictive text a couple of times, but ultimately mate, you're coming over like a bit of a Gribbophobe and you're giving me anxiety right now.....

I would rather listen to women commentating on every match if it meant I would never have to listen to Guy 'Cunt' Stats' Mobray ever again.

    Not seen that before.

Wow. If it's really true that that's how she operates then why would you give her a job in that role in the future? Or else it's all bollocks.

But either way it doesn't really make any sense. Glad she's not in charge of my cheque book!

Unlike the majority of CL members who aren't fans I have watched Women's football for about 25 years including when Charlton took over Croydon women's team lock, stock and barrel and still watch it as it's progressed with a professional WSL. Mainly just on TV but I did watch live games in the Euros, plus paying my first visits to the new Spurs stadium to watch the derby against Arsenal women.

Eni Aluko doesn't help herself and she just kept digging despite an ex Premier Owner trying to tell her the football facts of life.

I have no problem with women per se invovled with men's football and Lucy Ward doing commentary is fine once you get used to her broad Yorkshire accent !

Eni Aluko always sounds nervous and she was at her best in a studio with the sisterhood when talking about the women's game which TBF she played at the highest level.

I noticed she apologised to Ian Wright who does many England's women games as a pundit.

If Eni likes to be the centre of attention she has succeeded but she is fighting a losing battle with many of her comments.

  • Was it after her talk of manipulation that she left Aston Villa Womens team as sporting director?

  • Ian Wright said he can't accept Aluko's apology but he wants to move on.
  • Brilliant response from Wrighty who has acknowledged Alukos apology but not accepted it, rather he just wants to move on.
  • But Eni didnt need to issue an apology and if she has done then wrighty should accept it as its all been whipped up by the daily mail and everyone who doesn't take her side is misogynistic.
  • Man in not accepting apology for  being branded a mysogynist shock
  • Wrighty is a Palace cunt affable humourous pundit with an appealing touch of humanity about him.
Aluko is a charmless, graceless bore.
I agree with her basic stance, but I wouldn't be touting her personally for any opportunity in the field of punditry

I would say Henry VIII and Joey Barton are Misogynist because of their words and violent actions towards females.

If you say all woman are useless at being a
co-commentator you are probably misogynist but if you say one particular female pundit is poor then that is a personal comment but best not to add they should be in the kitchen or doing ironing as that is very last century and you are probably a dinosaur 🦖 🦕

Glad to help and I hope you are clear now on what the law is  "what is a woman"
