Can you show us where she’s branded him as a misogynist, please? Just interested to find out how you’ve jumped to that particular conclusion. Thanks fella!

I’d happily ban Wright from women’s football if it meant Aluko isn’t on any men’s coverage
Racist fascist misogynistic far right homophonic transphobe.
Do you realise homophonic means sounds the same?
Changed that back from predictive text a couple of times, but ultimately mate, you're coming over like a bit of a Gribbophobe and you're giving me anxiety right now.....
I’d say I couldn’t care less about you.

Media floss, who really gives a toss ? (I'm a poet and don't know it)
  • She is the female Sol Campbell.  Always the victim.

She doesn't get work because she's a god awful pundit & utterly clueless.  No other reason

Eni Aluko announced today she is dropping out of presenting the Women's football awards alongside the excellent Gabby Logan and experienced Sky pundit Jamie Carragher. She was still getting work as a pundit and a presenter but she is now annoying too many females involved in football and that definitely isn't a good idea as well as ITV big wigs.

The ex England Captain Steph Houghton praised Ian Wright for his involvement and backing for female football and at this rate Aluko may have to go back to Law school which she was studying when she was still a player; not sure if she qualified as a Lawyer or not?

Everyone and their Auntie criticised Liz Truss and none of the 30 million people were called Misogynists 😀

Strangely almost anyone can  call themselves a lawyer. It is unregulated whereas Solicitors and Barristers have to have qualifications.

She is, and left Slaughter and May  back in 2015 when she signed for Juventus. I think though she'll just wait for this to blow over and try to pick herself back up.

What I fear is fans on this forum using this to going after Eni, who remember was nominated for our Women Hall of Fame (so still has some relevance to our club), and using this Ian Wright thing (although it improper of her to say the things she said) to damage her reputation with our club.

Funny that, it’s almost as though people are selective in who they call misogynists

Lis Truss was criticised by men and women not because she was a women but because she was inept at her job.(In such a short time !) If you believe all female prime ministers in Europe are inept then you could well be a misogynist.
If you believe all 3 Tory PM were useless you may be a Labour supporter in mitigation as a close female friend of mine will concur.

Joey Barton is a Misogynist because he attacks women with his fists so even before he opens his Scouse mouth he's is a wrong un and a bully. He is a nasty individual who has poked a cigar in an academy lad's eye so his views are worthless piles of shite on any subject.

In my opinion, Eni Aluko isn't a great pundit and lacks confidence when she speaks but she was a top footballer and is ok when speaking about Women's football in the studio rather than being a co commentator live when she has to think quickly and gets her maths wrong !

Lucy Ward is a decent Co-Commentator even if she makes me talk Yorkshire: Ee-by-gum, trouble at t'Spurs.

The wise one in our house always says it's only really sexist, racist or misogynistic if it's said by a sexist, racist or misogynist. I think 90% of us know where someone is coming from after seeing a few tweets or reading a few posts, or indeed sharing a few drinks with that person.

FWIW I would like to know how the question was phrased, but reading what was said in reply to it, I think Eni was unwise in responding the way she did to the interviewer, if she didn't use Ian Wright's name herself, there would have been no problem.

Absolutely regards Barton, absolute weapon of a man.
Aluko IMO is terrible at what she does as a pundit & commentator, but was a great player, for her and her supporters to claim misogyny and racism for daring to criticize her purely on that is for me lazy and tired, they cannot compute that it could be anything else, as Algarve said, obviously there will be racists & misogynists purely basing it on that, and they rightly should be ignored and shouted down.
Liz Truss, awful, awful MP & Prime Minister, and rightly criticised for her shortcomings as well as Kwarteng, and I like you don't remember cries of misogyny or racism at the time ( I could about to be proved wrong by someone) and I suspect that if it had been a Labour female PM & chancellor of colour, the allegations would fly, which suggests to me some people are selective with their outrage based on their own political leanings, they see a black woman being criticised and claim both misogyny and racism, I wonder if due to Truss & Kwarteng being Tories they kept quiet?

Sorry, didn't clear that up, not Ian Wright (but Eni Aluko). Then again when you have SJ on the show you don't need Ian Wright to be arguing against her.
  • She needs a new PR team.
  • I honestly think she's mentally unstable.

Everything she does is a PR disaster & she should have better people around her

  • She just wasn't a very good pundit and possibly people at ITV Sport didn't like her/like working with her.  But it's easier for one reason or another for her to blame everyone else and everything else rather than to admit that.

Having lots of caps doesn't entitle you to work as a pundit if you aren't good on screen - Peter Shilton would be on every panel going!  But he didn't get work once retired when say Rodney Marsh or Ron Atkinson did, because they were more entertaining.

t brought her a chance (same as it has for boring f***ers like Michael Owen), but then Ellen White, Karen Carney, Alex Scott etc were better at it, they get kept on.

Shame she couldn't take the rejection on the chin, take the 'reserve list' place they were basically offering her, and work hard to make a good impression next time she got some work.  Because she's not going to be getting much now.

Laura Woods absolutely nailed it by the way - basically you've not got a divine right to the work, you have to work hard on your research, be likeable, and get on with the rest of the people working there - reading between the lines....

The irony is Aluko has just made Ian Wright even more popular.

Anyone that puts her on punditry from now on is insane.
  • If you have to keep doing follow-ups to clarify what you meant to say, then maybe you're just not very good at live broadcasting.

She's way too precious about herself, can't take constructive criticism, and its too entitled. The first two are fatal in any kind of media or entertainment career, the other is just having an over-inflated opinion of herself which tallies with the first two which doesn't make for a very likeable person.

    Some people are good players.
    Some are good pundits.
    Some are both.
    Some are neither.

This can cause issues for those people who are mistaken about which category they fall into.
