West Ham's abysmal season has definitely gone a bit under the radar with all that focus on the demise of Manchester United and Spurs. There are just the three relegated teams below them in the PL and yet only two teams have lost less days from injury this season.
Clearly having a player like Antonio out is a loss but not as massive as say Rodri at City and it really doesn't explain why they should be so far behind a team such as Brighton who have lost in excess of 1,600 days as opposed to West ham's which is barely 600.
This is the full list (team with most days lost at the top and the club's respective position in the PL in brackets):
1. Brighton (9) 2. Brentford (11) * 3. Wolves (13) 4. Man Utd (14) 5. Chelsea (5) 6. Newcastle (3) 7. Spurs (16) 8. Ipswich (18) 9. Arsenal (2) 10. Everton (15) 11. Man City (4) 12. Bournemouth (10) 13. Southampton (20) 14. C. Palace (12) 15. Leicester (19) 16. Aston Villa (7) 17. Liverpool (1) 18. West Ham (17) 19. Fulham (8) 20. Nott'm Forest (6) *
Arsenal surprisingly only made 2, going with as strong a team as possible...........and lost 2-1 at home to Bournemouth .
If they go out of Europe in midweek and somehow also blow top 5, then i fear for the sanity of Arsenal fans. For context, they are 7 points clear of 6th, but have played a game more, and they have Liverpool away next week.

I'm enjoying everything to do with the Alexander-Arnold transfer.
Firstly his crap robotic autocue reading of 'After 20 years at Liverpool Football Club I will be leaving at the end of the season'.
Just say it, surely you know what this is about?
Secondly that more English players are going abroad, like Kane, Bellingham, Alexander-Arnold - I think more English players learning abroad will make the national team better.
But mainly the hilarious over the top reaction of Liverpool fans, calling him a snake, a rat, demanding he isn't allowed to play the last few games etc.
This isn't a Sol Campbell promising he'll stay then signing for your biggest rivals, it's not a Lyle Taylor type thing where he's refused to play. It's literally just a player not signing a new contract and signing for a bigger club - like so many have before (including some who signed for Liverpool). Matip, say - Schalke youth team player, left for Liverpool on a free.
I think it's mainly that they can't believe there's a bigger club out there - 99% of teams are used to there being a football food chain but they're in shock that someone dares think there's a bigger club than Liverpool. He's won a load for his boyhood club and fancies playing abroad, good for him.
I think it's more because the owners don't spend much so they're annoyed at missing out on ~£80-100m. Won't take long before he's fondly thought of again. Although, worth remembering how people feel about Parker still, these things can hang around for ages

Very different scenario with Parker though. He left while we were approaching something special that season. Alexander-Arnold has stayed with Liverpool a long time, helping to achieve great things.

Wasn’t comparing the scenarios, just how long it takes for feelings to shift

I'm sure they are, but that's life, and also the club's fault - they could have sold him a year or two ago if he wouldn't agree a new contract.
If/when Small leaves to sign for someone else in the summer, he's not a snake, it's just a shame. Same with Dobson last year.

I don't think that's the case because plenty of Liverpool fans still love Suarez and Coutinho.
The issue is how he's gone about it. If he'd left for a fee like Suarez or Coutinho, or like when Kane left Spurs then i don't think you'd have any fuss at all. Their fans issue is him running down his contract and leaving his boyhood club for free. But of course you could equally argue that is the clubs fault for letting it run down.

Which makes the point really - Suarez was found guilty of racism and bit people, getting bans and missing games, only won a League Cup, tried to push through a move to Arsenal one year and then did with Barcelona the next.
Alexander-Arnold helped win two league titles and a Champions League, honoured the contract he signed and then moved. I can understand fans being disappointed but the reaction I've seen so far is a bit crazy to me.

It's the same with any club though, no one wants to see their best players leave, and certainly not for free.
George Dobson goes on a free - fans are not happy. Alex Gilbey goes on a free - no one gives a shit.
I can see both sides of it. I get why Liverpool fans are not happy, and equally i get that Trent is nearly 27 and wants to go and play in a different league.
I’ve given up trying to understand what a player can do in the run up for a penalty, all the while a keeper can’t move an inch…..BUT, Eze literally took a step backwards during his run up there. Surely you can’t do that.

Had missed this but Bournemouth have brought Dean Court outright , aiming to get it up to 20k as opposed to moving and building a new stadium.

no, not Spurs not losing for a change... but Paqueta bursting into tears after picking up a blatant yellow card in the second half.
Pray tell what is going on there?
