2024-2025 average L1 home attendance

Bradford are 299 for an adult, so not exactly giving them away like people are making out. Very cheap though, admittedly and I'd buy one today if we had the same pricing.2
-
I don't think it would double and you'd have lots of frequent stay awayers but you'd up the crowds a fair bit I think with much lower pricing - benefit from more wider stuff around sales at ground, beers club shop etc and just more fan engagement
I do think the mindset of having a season ticket is very significant in getting people in more often, real crowds up etc - i know a lot of people who go occasionally but have bought - but I think if they could buy a season ticket for the equivalent of 8-10 home matchday tickets they'd probably get one for the sake of it and then be more likely to come out on a tuesday night when it's "free" Vs just decide to give it a miss and watch on telly in the warm
but ultimately it's all, always, so heavily based on the team / performance.. we could have 20,000 STs but if we're playing like we were in november there'd still be 8,000 at crawley home on a tuesday night... if we're playing well and winning then probably we'd be getting genuine 16,000 - 20,000 crowds every week even at L1 level - and regardless of pricing or no of STs sold1 -
The last thing any club (particularly London clubs) wants now is a stadium plan sold out to ST holders. Most of the additional spend comes from tourists and occasional visitors.2
-
No club would ever want to sell their whole stadium to ST's and will have a limit on it. There is no point selling all your tickets at a reduced rate0
-
People really think wed sell 25000 St's by dropping the prices 20% ? Simply not happening. Even at £300 we'd probably have space for 8k walk ups.
If we ended up with 25k at the current prices I doubt anyone at the club would be complaining.0 -

Edit i think Bradford did a promotion years ago and sold adult season tickets for £100 or something. I guess the prices have gone up, but seems like the fans have remained.0 -

Is isn't always about money. Are there 24,000 Charlton fans willing to commit to at least 13 visits to the Valley (to make any ST worthwhile) for League One football? History says not.0

Much of the revenue from “other” is eaten up by cost of sales (and VAT). The point about ticket revenue is that after VAT there is almost no extra cost.1

At least people can get a ST. At Liverpool there's people who've been on their waiting list for 25 years and they haven't even reopened the list to add new people since 2011.0

Have we ever had a waiting list? And if so how long was it?1 -

Whether all other clubs do the same I don’t know, but I doubt to the extent of difference between our announced figures and attending and purchasing spectators. As mentioned Charlton would have over 12k empty home seats this season and are well known to give out a hell of a lot of comps because of it. (Wasn’t there a load of freebies sitting on a bar in a local pub somewhere a couple of seasons ago? )We had 11 sell outs last season. We haven’t done quite as well this season but we still not in a position to give out thousands of comps every game.0

I know they’ve had a few ‘sell-outs’ of 16-17,000, which is a bit stupid, as you say.1 -

I think the recent surge in form and results and gates tells you that the ‘product’ is more important than the price -some people won’t attend even if they’ve bought a season ticket if the football is rubbish - same with free or cheap tickets6

£299 in Bradford vs just renewed for £325 in London at a club in the league above. I don’t think the price of tickets is the main issue. It’s more that we have stagnated in League One and up until recently it’s been pretty dire to watch.I agree over £600 for highest price ticket is crazy but no one has to pay that as there are plenty of other seats to choose from.Simplifying to say £500 cap for most expensive season ticket and £25 per match ticket for anywhere in the ground might help but you’d like to think that someone at the club models these things to project revenue implications.1
