By “up town” do you mean somewhere in London or in Wycombe itself? If the latter, don’t forget that it’s bloody miles to the stadium so plan out how you’ll get there and don’t be sitting in the pub until 15 mins before kick off!
I won’t be drinking much on Sunday as I have a big day at work on Monday. Terrible kick off time for a match.

Will start london, probably somewhere around London Bridge and then head to Wycombe a couple of hours before KO.
We also broke our train journey at Beaconsfield prior to a midweek game a few years ago for lunch at The Royal Standard of England, which contends it is the oldest pub in the country - https://www.theoldestpub.com/ Interesting place and nice food.
Given transport issues and what looks like a limited bus service to the ground, I’m taking the car this time and will have to make do with the fan zone.

If arriving into Wycombe by train then the Flint Cottage opposite the station is a good pub to head for. A big beer garden out the back as well. Plenty of taxis outside the train station to take you towards the ground
Wasn’t it a pub at Wycombe that had the pound in the pint glass shenanigans that some of you used to rave about? Or am I getting mixed up?
Actually that doesn’t sound like a Wycombe kind of pub!
I heard that may have been the White Horse that could have closed down on roughly December 30th 2023. I never went myself...
That's the one! Didn't someone leave their glasses in there and the barmaid or dancer came on here to let them know she had them? No need to name or shame though..

The Hour Glass, 0.5 mile from the ground is ok for pre/post match beer, although busy the service is good. I would stay clear of the bar in the fans zone as the last couple of times I have been there the queue was massive and very slow moving (15 mins plus).

For those not going to Wycombe. Where in Maidstone is the best place to watch? (I'm visiting family)
I guess for maidstone you could just ask at a pub who has sky to put it on. Ashes in the centre of maidstone is a sports bar so guessing they'll have it on regardless.
theres a few maidstone people on here who will know better. @ME14addick perhaps?
depends on what part. for example near where my sister lives is a pub (not the best place) called the cherry tree and they have always put charlton on even if other more fashionable teams/games are being played.

Those were my glasses, no idea how they ended up in that pub though!
One of my favourite ever CL moments that.
My wife’s cousin was at uni locally thrre and drove past the exact moment I walked out of there!
Ha, I think I’d left my Charlton Conservative Club membership card in my glasses case, so the landlord joined CL and started a thread saying “does anyone know this guy [insert my full name]”! Totally outed me!!

Trying to work out what’s more embarrassing. Being caught in a strippers bar…or being a member of the Conservative Club!! 🤔🤷🏻♂️😂😂

Thanks for your reply. Town centre is fine. I've looked at the Ashes and will probably go there. Perhaps stupidly I thought there would be a charlton pub in Maidstone since there is always 2-3 full coaches come to the home games.

The Ashes will have it on but you will get ripped off on beer prices. Around the corner is The Old House at Home pub which should have it on as well. Stella £4.55 a pint. Its a bit rough in terms of old pissheads but no trouble. At least 4 screens. I was in last night to see the Spurs game and the Utd match was on the other screen. Worth checking out

Pretty well known pub, its closure made the BBC.
