How does a lucky loser get into the second round? Surely once the tournament starts, that's it?
I believe it’s because the seeded players get the first round bye. If it’s later in the tournament (or a first round winner withdrawing before round 2) it’s a walkover but because in this case, the withdrawing player hasn’t beaten other players yet, they can put another player in their place without much issue.
