Cancelling for Wembley

6 months ago, many of us probably only dared to dream of making the playoffs, let alone the final. My daughter is gong to be on holiday with her new boyfriend so misses the final (not sure I like his attitude towards lifes priorities) 🙁

I wonder who is having to cancel, postpone or apologise, for prioritising Wembley on Sunday.

Who wins the prize for the biggest other event being missed?

So is it via London Bridge or Via Farringdon this time? Expecting the Liz line to be banged out with both us and Orient supporters

We booked our holiday three months ago and I told my wife we couldn’t go until the Monday. That’s blind faith.

As soon as you use the term operation, I am picturing a secret palace fan wearing a Charlton/orient half and half scarf

I was going to enter a 10K road race that finishes in the Sixfields stadium that morning, but I might just give that a miss if I can get a ticket. If not, I'll enter but might have to run a PB to get home in time to watch it on TV.

  • I missed 2019 due to being in Madeira with the in-laws for their Golden wedding anniversary. I've never been so ungrateful for such a beautiful holiday.
The sedate pensioners and unsuspecting locals were not prepared for this solo hooligan going absolutely berserk in a peaceful near empty pub.
Safe to say I've not made the same mistake this time!
    Wembley here we come!

I’ll be doing a Wembley recce on Saturday as I’m going to the FA Cup Final (with the Citeh fans). Booked flight to Nice on 29th May with the expectation of attending the Play off final.

We got to Spain on Saturday. Half term innit. When I booked we were about 15 points off sixth. No idea what the missus is going say but gonna broach it when she gets home from work!

Won't Golfie have to cancel his Sunday lunch?
It won't miss a Sunday roast on his own for Wembley.

True fans never book holidays or events during the play off window
I agree. I never have done.

However, in 2019 my wife arranged a surprise holiday in Norway / Sweden to see the midnight sun. She arranged it for May ‘after the football season’. I can tell you Narvik in Sweden is virtually WiFi - free on a Sunday!

So you couldn't get hold of your wife to tell her the score?

Off to Majorca next Thursday with mates. I’m in two minds. I have been a crap fan and only been a few games so I can’t really get upset about it…

On the other hand, they don’t come round very often. Tricky.

Apologies to all, and I repent to the footballing gods!!

What on earth was I even thinking.

I went to 'Surgical procedure' Blackburn, and it is forever in my memory of games with a a depressing outcome. Pretty sure I still have the t-shirt with Pardew's mug on it.

Thanks to the mods for correcting my faux paa.

…16th wedding anniversary… priced this in - wouldn’t shut up about the possibility since the 5-1 at Northampton
