Orient have been playing Galbraith at RWB mainly. But by trade normally yes he'd compete with Coventry.
Should we get to the Championship, I wouldn't be surprised if Jones wanted to start with a double pivot 4-2-3-1. He already showed at the beginning of this season that his number #1 priority when starting at a new club/level is to not concede goals.
I think he likes playing two strikers too much to do that (good for pressing and going direct, as we do), although we move to that shape when we attack when Small pushes high and TC drifts wide left.
  • Really hope that we sign Lincoln's Goalkeeper: George Wickens

Dijksteel released by Middlesbrough. If we go up I think that would be a great move for us to make. Option for wing back and think Ramsay’s role would really suit him too
I actually think that is a great shout. I know, we’re obsessed with ex players etc, but part of the reason our back 3 have been so effective has been down to the pace of recovery of Ramsay, if he’s out, we have no one else that can play that role.

As Naby says, he can cover multiple positions, is on a free, and is still only 28.

I’d be happy if we resigned him.
And it's not as if he's been sitting in the stands this season, he's been a regular for them.

Not sure he could play the Ramsey role but I'm not against getting him back, most of the time Ramsey is outmuscling bulky centre forwards, Dijksteel was good for us but more of an up-and-down right back, which I think we already have in Edwards on the opposite side.
  • Djiksteel would be an excellent signing. Covers multiple positions well could play the Ramsay role , play RWB and cover Coventry at CDM too. Bags of championship experience too
  • The Notts keeper has some decent distribution for L1 or L2, not small at 6'3" and only 27, so coming to his peak. Could do nothing for the goal.

His best football at Middlesbrough was when Wilder was there and he played RCB in a back 3 for them. Although he came through as a right back/wing back for us, he was originally a Centre back or centre mid. I think the role Ramsay is playing would be perfect for him

Probably a lazy one but Naismith just released from Bristol city. Signed by Jones at Luton, 33 now but would bring experience from a top end champ side good option off the bench maybe

Would love to see us beat orient and then nick Charlie Kelman
    He's on loan from QPR
I know, but pretty sure i read on here that he is out of contract at the end of the season?
  • Off that, just googled and he signed a new contract in 2024

All mediocre scorers on Statbank. Doc, the skipper, was dropped for a few matches because he was so crap. Berry our only 10 until January. Our main weakness has been in midfield. Even Coventry with his backpasses was poor until Xmas, but we have never controlled games despite the experience of LB and GD.
And Berry has scored as many league goals as TC...

So why hasn't he got a song?
He Has, Hes the white Pele
  • This is pretty much what the squad is looking like for next season without sales and presuming Small Doesn’t extend his deal. Arguably if we go up we’re going to need upgrade the starting XI with a new GK, new LCB, New RCB (depending if either Mitchell can make the step up), 2 New midfielders to start alongside Coventry, and another Big physical striker. Also need wingback cover as well either side . So roughly 8-9 signings needed big summer ahead
  • No way Ramsay goes back to RWB. He’s a RCB now and that’s where he’ll stay

If you’re counting Fullah and Asiimwe as potential back ups then Enslin is possible cover for Edwards. Dixon another option up front too.

How many of them end up as part of the squad depends on what league we’re in, who we sign and the impact they make in preseason. Will be interesting to see which of the academy players make that step, as I think at least a couple will.
  • Right now I think if we stay in League 1, we'll look to replace or upgrade 3 positions on the pitch, and that is GK, RWB and CAM, with another 4 signings across the squad to help strengthen the overall depth.

If we go up, that number for me jumps to 6, with ST, LCB and CM added to the list of first XI upgrades, and the respective players in those positions becoming squad options, and the previous squad options either loaned out or moved on.

    League 1
    NEW GK
    Ramsay Jones GIllesphey
    NEW RWB Docherty Coventry Edwards
    NEW CAM
    Godden Campbell

Mannion, Mitchell, Mitchell, Asiimwe, Anderson, Leaburn, Kanu

    Championship
    NEW GK
    Ramsay Jones NEW LCB
NEW RWB NEW CM Coventry Edwards
    NEW CAM
    Godden NEW ST

Mannion, Mitchell, GIllesphey, Docherty, Berry, Campbell, Leaburn

    Hope that makes sense!
  • Hopefully we wont need the new starting RWB if we go up, as it'll be Small

Be surprised if we got a new Striker to start ahead of Campbell as well, Jones loves him
  • Gillesphey is playing like a player that could step up at the moment. Though I’m sure if we are in the championship we will bring in an alternative to compete with him for the spot, whereas in league 1 it will probably be another backup like McIntyre

Hoping we might go for Caleb Taylor, young, quick and great potential
    3 career goals?
    Are you clinically insane?
    No, just a troll
But, to be fair, a fantastic one. A real artist
