  • Watching last night's episode this morning, feels like a huge fry up after a big night out.

I wish they brought back the contestants studio reactions during the filmed tasks, Matthew on all fours would have been even better if we could see his reaction
  • I'm really enjoying this season (sorry, SERIES) - the contestants are a really strong combination and Alex and Greg seem to be having a good time too.

Best series since the Dara O'Briain/Fern Brady one so far for me.

The cushion task last week was absolutely brilliant.
  • It feels sillier somehow and that's what makes the show great. Think Jason's general energy and Fatiya's utter disdain for the whole thing have made the whole thing seem mad

I've seen Fatiha getting some stick on Twitter for not being bothered etc, crazy to me that people don't realise that's the joke.

I think she's brilliant, I love that dry humour.

Yeah she’s fantastic. She’s clearly having fun too, it’s all over her face. The stuff about her batman bedroom had me in stitches

Even stuff like Mathew (who is otherwise winning convincingly) doing stuff like misreading the "ssh" instructions or moving the wheely bin for NO REASON and disqualifying himself add to it. Rosie pratfalling and Stevie's utter inability to walk like a normal human being.

They're all just embracing the daftness and it works so well.
  • Stevie is a really good physical comedian, I think completely accidently.

    Bit like Bridget Christie was.
  • Such a good series, tonight's episode was brilliant.

  • Yeah considering I only knew Stevie at kick off, the others have all had me guffawing along. Best series for donkeys…
  • It's really good. Some of the tasks are too wordy and complicated but the contestants are so good. There's great chemistry between them

Yeah think the same about the tasks, sometimes less is more - "Make an edible mask", "Recreate a videogame" etc - as it gives funny people a bit of leeway to be creative and different.

I usually like it when they bicker in the studio about points, but this series it feels like they all got on so well instead - there's such good rapport, they bounce off each other so well etc.

I think that what sets the show apart is that the contestants are picked out specifically (as confirmed by Alex Horne.) It's not just five random comedians/actors, they actually try to think about how it will work in team tasks/the studio and normally get it spot on.

This series has been exceptional in that regard to be fair. You can also see that Alex and Greg are particularly enjoying themselves too.
  • Loving the series so far, normally one contestant leaves me thinking that they didn't work that well not this year.  They all contribute to make this one of the best ever line ups.
  • Jason was great for having their first American, the right level of fame in the US, he’s clearly a mega fan of the show and just loves falling into the various traps and jokes Alex and Greg make about him.
  • Have to admit after watching the first episode of the new series I wasn't really feeling it, but reading this thread tells me to give it more time for sure. Love Taskmaster as a whole though, I discovered it during lockdown and to be honest it's kept me sane through some very hard times!
  • I don't normally listen to the Taskmaster podcast but did this mor ing as Jason was on.

He makes it very clear that he couldn't care less about winning and just wanted to have as much fun as possible/make good TV.

I think that really helps - compared to some like John Robins, Richard Herring etc that obviously wanted to win and were good at the tasks but in a bit of a boring way, it makes much better TV.

I think the main problem with John is that he's a self confessed superfan so he knew every trick in Alex's book.

John said on his show with Elis James that  he was concerned how he'd come across on TV if he behaved the same way as on his radio show, so he played it quite safe. Whereas Jason couldn’t give a shit.

Richard Herring also regrets taking it too seriously,he slightly redeemed himself on CoC

  • Jason and Stevie make a good team because Stevie accidentally causes absolute chaos... and Jason VERY INTENTIONALLY causes absolute chaos. They are one of the better teams for a very long time.
