Wembley tickets - 39k officially SOLD OUT (p109)

Just had this email sent to me... Feels like with this going out, that the sales are now over
Especially the booking site, as if you login to get tickets now... the Wembley event isnt even there to say SOLD OUT now.

Perhaps.
My feeling would be that the EFL were kicking back until Orient's 5pm deadline passed which is more than fair enough imo. It's in no-ones interest to have all those empty blocks when the demand is there.
For those of you who expect constant updates, do you not think they would have updated us to tell us that there was no chance of any more tickets? Until you get that update, there is ever chance more tickets are coming.Might also save calls and emails to the ticket officeThat reasonable?3 -

Maybe if you're after a few seats together or concessions, it's harder but surely if you aint fussy and want to go, fingers crossed you will go0 -
Perhaps it's time to " Get Carter" on the case.
What a tremendous boost for our owners /CEO if "they" could get this sorted for a huge number of Addicks still without tickets through no fault of their own in many cases.4 -
Already seen some incredible work going on in the spares thread.11

They told us the other day that tickets would arrive within 48 hours and they had people pestering them less than 24 hours later asking where their tickets were.
They are extremely busy - trying to secure extra tickets, they don't have the time to repeat themselves every hour.2 -

How many staff do we have working there?
There was also this link posted on the website https://www.charltonafc.com/news/wembley-ticket-faqs last Saturday.
The last few days have taught me how in this day & age how few people are able to read the information provided & also prepare for eventualities like the play-offs, big away games etc.
Yes the club has probably made errors but i cannot believe how little knowledge some of our fans seem to have in finding the relevant information they require on the clubs website.
We have just completed a league season of 46 fixtures & still people are unaware of Loyalty Points, Valley Gold, coach pick-up points etc.
I'm sure after the weekend when the 'dust has settled' we discover that very few, if any Season Ticket holders/ Valley Gold members & people with the required Loyalty points did not get tickets for the Semi- final's & final.
I hope the club recognises & rewards the ticket office staff for their hard work & long hours put in over the last few weeks.24 -
Why would anyone want to leave seats empty that could be sold? Financially benefits us, Orient and the EFL. Makes a mockery too of Orient being asked to sell theirs block by block, some fans would have bought better seats if able too so again increasing revenue. When it’s all over some serious questions need asking and answering.20

Could you imagine if roles were reversed and some of our fans planned to buy on Friday only for the allocation to be reduced and they missed out.
It does not make sense, if sales are slowing then the sooner we get the allocation the less stressful for everyone, particularly as the guy who alluded to the admin required...
Madness. But then we are only football fans....
I have a purchase history from being a (lapsed) season ticket holder and was lucky enough to get a ticket when that window opened.
Some people I know with similar circumstances weren’t as lucky.
I just think being able to get 3 additional tickets for people without history is not fair when others with more Charlton connection miss out.
If I miss out today and more tickets dont become available I will be very frustrated and may change my view, but I also feel that fans with the huge loyalty point totals and fans with season tickets who go to every home game have earned the right to bring friends/family along for the big day out. I could potentially argue that it should be 2 tickets per fan ID / season ticket etc. (as this would have allowed me to get tickets by now!) but I can see the rationale to get the tickets sold as soon as possible, hopefully filling the stadium
Family stands should be for young kids too, not 15/16/17 year olds who are probably having a pint before the match 😆
If you were to do this you'd need to make it really clear and telegraph it 2 years in advance. So that people can set up accounts and build purchase history's for those people. There should also be a reminder with every purchase of multiple tickets to assign them to the right people or risk them not being able to attend big games.
I'm just not sure we are at the point of needing to restict sales like that (yet!).
If you don't allocate the tickets to someone how on earth are the club to know?
However, the first 18 plus aways this season probably didn't have that issue and nor last season, so if you go to most of the games and register the 10 points from home games and 5 points from away games that you are ENTITLED to, then you could comfortably have racked up 600 odd points and I think we only needed 150 to enter. (Plus of course all the cup games and there are usually at least 5 per season).0 -

Leaving seats empty when they could be sold is not unusual for the League One Final.
A few years back Sunderland Wycombe had the expected mad dash for the Mackems tickets and Wycombe just got above 20k sold. Sunderland were given an additional allocation, but still not enough for the demand, when the game was played large number of blocks in the upper tier remained empty5 -

Woodwork said:Right… having thought about it, I don’t think there is some big conspiracy. Just typical poor British planning & indifference. The initial allocations must represent the amount of tickets available minus segregation, Club Wembley etc etc. If a club looks very unlikely to sell more than 50% of that allocation, then they can make a quick decision to reallocate some of those to the other club. However, once a club sells over 70% (which Orient have), it means only a small amount of tickets can be released on an ad hoc basis that depends on different variables. And I guess the attitude may be, that only the likes of Manchester United, City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle, Spurs and West Ham can really grumble in terms of allocation, as those are the only clubs that would see season ticket holders miss out on a trip to Wembley.0

I was wrongly assuming that your son had missed out through not having enough points.
I didn't realise you are in the same boat as the majority and had bought for him so you can be together.
I hope you all have a great day.
NB I reckon the majority including me are missing points for similar & varied reasons.2 -

Is madness, they could've forecast the final orient demand for 2 or 3 days now and allocated the spare seats accordingly.
It may just be a one off fuck up from whoever was making the decision, but just from an objective commercial view it seems like they've left a lot of revenue on the table. Most organisations that would be a bollocking at the very least.
Really sorry to any fans who weren't able to buy.7 -
