The power's that be, not Charlton, decided not to sell those tickets despite Charltons repeated requests, which the club communicated on numerous occasions.
To me this smacks heavily of comms controlled by people with no comms experience or background.9 -

It's easy for me to say as I got my tickets on Tuesday, they haven't been perfect but I think they've handled it fairly well. The phases were explained clearly and they've continued to update us when required.valleynick66 said:

So it's pretty clear that the lack of communication means the request was denied. I'm not sure why people keep asking for an update when it's obvious they don't have one.

The point is it’s easy to say something it’s not onerous.That’s advertising tickets that are for sale and e-mails went out to eveyone yesterday about the match day experience tomorrow.0 -
It's much easier, IMHO, for the club to construct and control the narrative when they are in control of the entire ticketing process at The Valley, because it's our ground (despite the Belgian fecker), our organisation, etc.valleynick66 said:

Personally, I think that they have told us all that they know because there is no benefit to the club in not doing so, so I think the communication problem is EFL/Wembley not CAFC or Orient.

Rather than say further communication to fans should this request be facilitated, they could have said we will issue a statement once a decision has been made. By not saying anything leaves people thinking there’s still a possibility of getting extra tickets.3

I don’t think the clubs comms has been as awful as some are suggesting, but I do think the club should release a statement now to put any ticketless fans still holding out hope out of their misery.4

Not sure if we got the additional tickets from the Sunderland allocation, more likely like this time the additional tickets have come from corporate and complimentary tickets not taken up in our half of groundOff_it said:Oh come on. Nearly 40,000 Addicks will cheer on Nathan Jones’ side at Wembley on Sunday in the Sky Bet League One play-off final against Leyton Orient.
After Charlton’s initial allocation of 36,945 sold out on Tuesday, an additional allocation was made available on Thursday and sold out almost instantly.
Given the exceptionally high demand, the club have continued to request additional tickets throughout the week.
Board member Ed Warrick said: “I'm so pleased to have a sold-out, vibrant Charlton end backing Nathan Jones and his team on Sunday. The demand for tickets has been incredible and shows our club at its very best.
“We've been in constant contact with the EFL and Wembley throughout the week requesting more tickets to give as many Charlton fans as possible the opportunity to be part of the day and back the team.
"We've been advised that there are no more tickets that can be made available for the game. While that is disappointing, we’re grateful for the additional allocation we received earlier this week, and, although we’re disappointed it wasn’t a larger allocation, we’re mindful of the ticketing take-up from both clubs and the configuration of the stadium - which is outside our control. For every Charlton match we want as many Addicks backing our team, and our ticketing team will always seek to do so.
“I very much feel for the supporters who haven’t been able to get a ticket. This thread that started off so well, has now descended into a slanging match between supporters... tickets are no more, tomorrow is the biggest match for some years, let's maybe just support as best we can, and cheer us into The Championship...🏆8

I never realised that we had additional tickets last time round. Looked fairly even but i was sat in the last row to the back of the goal.
Re the comms issue. I am not on either side as fortunate enough to have been in phase 2 on 545 points. However i did renew my season ticket the day before deadline day and i was pestered every day with texts and emails up to the point i renewed. So not sure how difficult it would be to set them up to update fans on their database by the same method.0
