Nearly 40,000 Addicks will cheer on Nathan Jones’ side at Wembley on Sunday in the Sky Bet League One play-off final against Leyton Orient.
After Charlton’s initial allocation of 36,945 sold out on Tuesday, an additional allocation was made available on Thursday and sold out almost instantly.
Given the exceptionally high demand, the club have continued to request additional tickets throughout the week.
Board member Ed Warrick said: “I'm so pleased to have a sold-out, vibrant Charlton end backing Nathan Jones and his team on Sunday. The demand for tickets has been incredible and shows our club at its very best.
“We've been in constant contact with the EFL and Wembley throughout the week requesting more tickets to give as many Charlton fans as possible the opportunity to be part of the day and back the team.
"We've been advised that there are no more tickets that can be made available for the game. While that is disappointing, we’re grateful for the additional allocation we received earlier this week, and, although we’re disappointed it wasn’t a larger allocation, we’re mindful of the ticketing take-up from both clubs and the configuration of the stadium - which is outside our control. For every Charlton match we want as many Addicks backing our team, and our ticketing team will always seek to do so.
“I very much feel for the supporters who haven’t been able to get a ticket. With the excitement around the game, I hope that those unable to make it to Wembley will be able to find fellow Addicks to watch the game with. I'm particularly thankful to our Supporters’ Trust, who have lobbied the EFL via the Football Supporters' Association and have been in constant contact with the club throughout the process, and are pointing people in the direction of screenings of the game around the world so Addicks can get together.
“Our focus is very much on Sunday and we’re looking forward to seeing our supporters at the game, and around the world, rally behind Nathan Jones and his team.
If they weren't considering giving us extra tickets then why force Orient to sell block by block, or did Orient go beyond the level of sales where that was possible?
I think they must have. If Orient had sold nearer 20k then I think we’d have got a lot more
Possibly but it has been obvious for days how many they would sell, so why not communicate the issue.
CAFC comms has been poor this week. They have not built a rapport with the fans in the way they did before the semi (eg drummer video) and have had multiple opportunities handed to them on a plate and rejected.
I am hearing that Leyton have invested a lot more on their fan zone at wembley and we are re-using what we already have rather than bespoke.
The club have responded when they could .. they were waiting for clear information before forwarding it ..which was not forth coming especially in the last few days .. the ticket office staff have been working late into the evening most nights since the season ended to deal with the demand .. my mates son works there and even when he got home he still been working on his phone .. massive thank you to the staff and well done to the club ….. once again EFL and Wembley massive disappointment .. or was it just because it was Charlton again ?
Comms on this will be put out later but the advice is to arrive extra early for this one compared to 2019. I’m told the club have asked stewards at Wembley to conduct rigorous checks - including a Mastermind-style specialist knowledge round of questioning - to sniff out anyone who’s not a genuine Charlton fan in order to make more tickets available.
Is what it is. Shame there will be gaps when we could have sold them, and shame the clubs will get less revenue as a result.
But let’s be honest, we’ve had some painfully low home crowds at parts this season, midweeks especially. It’s hard to believe just a few months ago at those games we’d be complaining that 40k tickets isn’t enough.
We need to stop talking about it now and focus on the game. The club will have brilliant backing from 40,000 fans. I’m confident at least 99% of our active support who are able to go will there. Let’s do all we can off the pitch to make it a great occasion.

I need to get a drink having just liked one of Ronnie's posts!
Out of interest, is there any regular / long-tern poster on here that has wanted to go but hasn’t been able to get a ticket for themselves ? (not friends or family)
This is like when I was younger, my mum asking me to text when I have arrived at a destination and then moaning that I haven’t text yet, when I haven’t actually arrived.

You can bypass the questioning if you’re a Valley Gold member though.
So, "the configuration of the stadium". This wasn't factored in to the build all of 20-ish years ago?
This is the FA remember.
There’s only so many set of segregation gates you can install around the concourses on either main deck, and Orients ticket sales probably moved them past that line in the top tier.
I am not sure the phrase that was banded around earlier this week - everyone who wants a ticket will get one has applied. Poorlly managed by the club and Wembley has certainly taken the shine off for many !!

The club has sold nearly 40k tickets in under a week, why have they poorly managed it?
Wembley and possibly EFL are the ones who have mismanaged anything in making tomorrows game one where they'll be 1000s of empty seats which could likely have been sold to fans.

I've been a long-term poster on many CAFC forums and social media sites...Made a decision some time back, to divert my time to spend more time enjoying outdoor activities.

Was that a club line, or was it a line thrown about by fans on here, who didnt expect the level of interest? - I dont think anyone expected roughly 10k tickets to sell out within an hour, which is a ridiculous amount in such a short space of time for example.

Oh come on. The use of the words "initial allocation" leads people to think maybe there will be more.
Then when they announced the extra allocation they said they were asking for more, which also suggests maybe there will be more.
If there isn't then that's that, which is surprising to me because last time around Sunderland sold more of their allocation than Orient have now, but we were still given some of their seats late on.
Not sure if we got the additional tickets from the Sunderland allocation, more likely like this time the additional tickets have come from corporate and complimentary tickets not taken up in our half of ground
Pretty sure we did. Our seats in the top tier went past halfway opposite the royal box.
No matter how many times the vocal minority try and shout this out, it won't be true
In my view only the comms on possible additional tickets was poorly managed.
Online tickets means it’s pretty straightforward (if available) to make your purchase albeit some glitches for some.
We don’t need to conflate issues / observations as it’s clearly good 40k sold.
It will be interesting post the event, and if CAST get to the bottom of it, to understand the process for ticket allocation by Wembley and how it’s managed and how you might ever get a bigger allocation.
It surely need not be a secret as it must follow the same process for all such fixtures and won’t be specific to us.

Yes, I'm in that category sadly. Wanted 3 for myself and Charlton supporting son and partner. Totally understand not being a priority as live a fair distance away and can't make many games. Slightly sad that a tradition of seeing Charlton at Wembley, which started with my Grandad taking my own Dad in 1947, can't be carried on yet with me and my boy, but hopefully there will a few more chances before I'm too old. Putting it in perspective though, there are worse things going on in the world and I'm still grateful my family will be able to enjoy a BBQ and beers together tomorrow and watch the game on TV. Shame people are falling out on here over comms etc, because we are ultimately all on the same side. If you're going tomorrow please give the boys an extra cheer from my Grandad, whose watching on from above, my 92 year old, old man, who is still very much with us and the rest of us all who will be willing them on from afar.
Hi everyone, this is my first comment on here. Im a lifelong Charlton supporter born just 10 minutes walk from the Valley. (And 9 months after we won the FA Cup:-)) Now living in Norway, (Since 1984) and a Military Vet. (27 years) Lived in Eltham (Mottingham) for many years before joining the Army. Not far from Sparrowslane. Still working in the Adventure industry organising Battlefield tours to Norway. I have also organised tours to the Valley for Scandinavian Supporters in the past and was a member of Valley Gold for many years; even Voted for the Valley party as I was still a registered voter based in West Germany. I try to fly back to the UK every season from Norway to see at least 2/3 games; its very expensive! CAFC isnt just a football team, but an institution and an important part of our Culture. Although the ticket office has been incredibly helpfull in helping the ticket buying process, it has been impossible getting a ticket for this game tomorrow. I am currently visiting the UK (Bexhill) and would obviously and like to go. If anyone has a spare ticket, and is prepared to sell it, message me on here, I would be very grateful, for the opportunity. (Like 10000 others I would think:-) Anyway, whatever happens, COYR,
Good news, I have managed to match up my friend who had a spare over 65 ticket with this gentleman through the amazing spares thread running on here.

Whether you’ll be at wembley or watching at home, soak it all in and enjoy the day!
TBF Sam, we do have some good eggs amongst our fan base as well as guys who make Victor Meldrew seem like a chuckle brother.
Just one more sleep💤, boys😬 and girls 🫦
