Away travellers - What new grounds next season?

  • 14 to choose from....

Few are proper grounds though. So 2 Sheffield clubs, Norwich and Preston I guess

  • Very annoyingly for me, is that I know there’s one of either Swansea or Cardiff I’ve not been to…..but I don’t know which?
  • Just Millwall for me, I get too nervous on the day and can't bring myself to go. Hoping to get over that fear this season.

Expect to lose at The Den and every decision to go against us. And when that inevitably happens, you won't be as disappointed. I still can't get over Solly's red card there, not to mention our perfectly good goal at The Valley disallowed for a 'foul' on their keeper.
Just want to make it clear I've been mate and I'm messing.

I'm not scared of anyone or anything, even Millwall 😉

One of them play in white, the other blue.

That doesn’t help one little bit……I reckon it would have been all of 50 years ago, so I’m really struggling to fathom it out.🤔

They have both moved grounds since then mate.

    Blue or red
  • Blackburn, Ipswich, Leicester, Middlesbrough, Preston, Swansea, Wrexham. Leicester has to be the main target, given that I've already followed Charlton over land and sea so I need that one to complete the set.

Coventry, Southampton and Swansea for me. Not optimistic about getting a ticket in the away end at St Mary’s given it’ll be our first visit since 2011!
The women's team played at St Mary's this season. Part of the reason I went to that was I thought it might be a while before the men got there. Shows how much I know.

Same here , although prolly a few clubs I’ve been to but not their latest grounds
  • Turn it around a bit and our own away end should be full on multiple occasions next season. Lots of clubs...especially on a Saturday...are going to pack out the Jimmy Seed.
  • looking through the list of grounds one I've been that not that fussed on returning are:
    brum
    blackburn
    coventry
    derby
    hull
    ipswich
    boro
    preston
    sheff weds
    sheff utd
    stoke
    west brom

of course if something riding on the game would go.

the ones i need to tick off and will defo be attending ( including if midweek )
    Norwich
    Leicester
    Southampton

the others that ill do if around as localish
    milwall
    watford
    qpr

the 2 below I need to tick off but not as priority as the other 3 as expect them both to be in the league ( aswell as us ) for a few seasons.
    wrexham
    swansea
  • Depending on them being weekend matches, I'm aiming to go to these next season

    Oxford
    Leicester
    Portsmouth
    Southampton
    Swansea
    Watford
    QPR

Swansea, Preston, Leicester, Southampton and Coventry (I've been to The Dell and Highfield Road on a number of occasions but not the current grounds). Hopefully they won't be 12:30 kick-offs, although we're going to have to get used to being dicked around more with kick-off times in the Championship.

Some great other trips to look forward to, including Hillsborough (one of my favourite grounds), Carrow Road and our old friends down at Fratton Park.

Hopefully we'll get decent allocations for most of the fixtures.

  • I've not attended 9 out of the potential23 25/26 Championship grounds.
Of them I imagine I'll only be drawn to Oxford and Coventry and even then it will be price and date dependent
Away trips ever further out of reach financially and the malign impact of SkyTV's control of the fixture timings evermore jeopardises the prospect of going to away games, it'll be bad enough getting to SE7 for Friday evening, Saturday lunchtime, Saturday evening and Sunday games.
Welcome to the not quite bigtime boys'n'girls. :D

    estimated allocations if required
    Brum 3000
    Blackburn 4000
    Bristol city 3900
    Coventry 3000
    derby 2700
    hull 2600
    Ipswich 3000
    Leicester 3000
    Boro 3500
    Millwall 2000
    Norwich 2500
    Pompey 1400
    oxford 1500
    qpr 1800
    Sheff utd 3000
    Sheff weds 3700
    Southampton 3000
    stoke 2800
    Swansea 2500
    Watford 2200
    west Brom 3000
    Wrexham 1500

quite a step up from scrambling for tiny allocations at league 1 grounds. have bolded ones i think we will sell out dependant on times.

How many Watford managers is that?
  • Hull, Sheffield Wed and Utd, Derby, Leicester, Brum, West Brom, Stoke and Middlesbrough all on my list this year, and all doable from my location using public transport providing they are not evening games. Going to try and get to Preston and Blackburn also. Coventry may be a stretch as it is in the middle of nowhere and I don't drive! Can't wait for the season to begin!
  • Just Wrexham. If I can get tickets.

Amazed how many people mention Norwich, considering how many opportunities there have been and what an easy trip it is. It's also one of my favourite away games due to the decent beers and the number of wins I've seen there.
Love visiting Carrow Road. Good friends who are Norwich fans live near Mildenhall so we always stay with them and make a weekend of it. Seen some great performances there, Hunt’s hat trick in a 4-0 win and a magical Mortimer finish.
Not forgetting knocking out the referee too. Think it was Minto who poleaxed him in front of us. Might have been Reid.

January 1987 - David Axcell the ref. Reid was involved. 1-1 draw.

Probably do Carrow Road again, ticket in the away end cost £34 last time I went in 2014, I really hope the price hasn't gone up since then!

And the extra revenue it brings.
I'd say that there will be an average of a minimum 2000.
